In Response to Re: Harebrained June-December 2017 Challenge: 4NL to £5/10 live : May well take you up on that - thanks very much for the offer. Are you going headed up to Manchester, then? Thanks for the faith and for watching my vids - we've barely played versus each other lately but you owned me whenever we did. Have lots of thoughts on 20/30nl and even more on 50nl. Now I have tons of work over the next few months I may be able to build something of a roll and play these sorts of heady stakes. Watch this space. Posted by SR23
I managed to sat in via the non-freeroll route so will be there on the Saturday, likely heading over lunchtime, hope tosee you there! If you want to sell 10% can do bank transfer/PayPal/skrill, let me know. Good luck building the roll, looking forward to some 20nl vids soon - once you start playing live cash you should start a vlog - could be the next Andrew neeme!

Cheers man - that is the ultimate goal. 2017 is the year of the poker vlog, apparently, and I might just be able to squeak a few live vlogs in before the end of the year. That would be favourable.
Will let you know via PM re: 10%, but thanks again. Saturday is looking slightly dicey (?) to buy in directly but Friday looks a breeze. I'll probably play Friday if I do play and will make the decision on Thursday, most likely. Would be good meeting you, but if I don't make it up there, run golden.
Ambitious, right? But let's not get carried away: I'm not hoping to go from 4NL to being sufficiently rolled for playing £5/10 live by the end of the year. What I would like to be, though, is sufficiently rolled by December to be playing live regularly and at least be able to buy-in properly and play a few hours of £5/10 - preferably at the Palm Beach Casino, Mayfair. There are reasons for wanting to play there and at those stakes.Posted by SR23
At some point I will go into those reasons. I will also find the time to talk about crying into a boiled egg and about not being able to walk across a bridge. All in good time. Posted by SR23
Did I miss this?, I feel like I have read every post so far.

You haven't missed them, dude. They are (somewhat) on the way. Hopefully this won't be like my other diary where I kept threatening to write about my crying-into-boiled-eggs history* but never quite got round to it.
Thanks for reading.
*don't know why I'm presenting this as some kind of jocular, knockabout thing. It's actually bleak as.
Erm, this challenge is still going. Well, just about. Apologies for the long absence.
Early August I finished a mountain of work and then went out and got drunk and accidentally stayed drunk until early September. Okay, a little hyperbolic but there was barely a time for four weeks when I was awake and didn't have a drink in my hand. I have issues, it seems. I may need help with these issues at some point, but not just yet.
This holiday from sobriety meant I played pretty much zero online poker (but lots live). When I came back to it, I loved it again. Then I went on a 25 buy in downswing and stopped loving it again and it meant that when it came to this month's promo I was playing, at times, with my entire roll spread across five tables - not ideal. I was also running bad - I remember flopping a set, getting it in for a 400 bb pot, losing to a rivered bigger set and thinking, "Winning that would have increased my bankroll by 50%."
Good times.
Thankfully I was playing pretty okay and started to run a bit better and then started to run a lot better and now I have something of a bankroll and am top of the 10nl leaderboard and should - barring any large blobs of poker malfeasance or anyone going on a massive spurt - still be there come Monday morning.
Am going to try and update more regularly from now until the end of the year. May include some live stuff too - my local casino has a promo on until 4th November (triple points - so £3 an hour just for playing) so I may grind two promos at once with a slender bankroll, rather than just the one.
Thanks, as ever, for reading.
Starting bankroll: £40
Current bankroll: £383.92
Withdrawn: £1,000*
*need to double-check as I've been merging live/online rolls but I think it's pretty much around here, possibly a bit more.
Fab to see you back posting ( not a hyperbole) Not so fab to hear of your lost months in a booze fest,. When you look back do you think," That was most enjoyable, must try it again sometime soon" Good luck on the felt. Posted by tomgoodun
Well, sort of. I know I shouldn't though. I equally enjoy my healthy months though.
Thanks for the good wishes - hope all's looking a bit better with you.

Thanks Tikay, it's a pleasure to be back. Partly a pleasure because (Monday and Tuesday aside) I've been running golden, but mainly because I've realised how much I like playing poker. It's probably - along with tennis, football, going to the cinema alone on January afternoons, swimming and getting buckled - one of my favourite pursuits, if not my favourite.
Looks like I've got the top of the 10nl leaderboard locked up. Not sure what next week holds - perhaps just splash around in a few levels and see how things look midweek. Seems a suitably haphazard strategy.
Managed to win a few hundred live at £1/1 on Friday partly through playing well (calling down w/AK in 250bb pots and being good) but mainly through doing cool stuff like rivering sets when my opponents hadn't rivered sets.
Bankroll looking a fair bit healthier than the beginning of the weeks' "Let's play with our whole roll spread across five tables" debacle, thank god.
Thanks again to everyone for reading and thanks to everyone on the tables (sorry, this is like a rubbish Oscar speech) who I chatted with and who helped keep me reasonably sane.
Had lots of fun dusting off £500 live on Friday through a combination of run bad and play bad (mainly play bad - I played bad, real nice and bad). Still, I didn't tilt. I left the casino, asked the first person I saw if they wanted to come home with me and drink wine, came home alone and drank wine, and started playing lots of 50nl and 50p/£1 spin ups. See? No tilt.
Since then things have steadily improved and I've been playing a mixture of nl10/20/30/50 in the hope of (a) making a bit of profit and (b) scraping onto those leader boards. It's working so far.
Looks like next week will be more grinding and less wine. Happy Sunday all.
