In Response to Re: Poll: Would you play a monthly 50k Guarantee? : I didn't quite say that. The first part of my post was meant to be a tongue in cheek comment about the top players wanting big guarantees and rebuys was hardly a shock. The final part was meant to be a more serious point about picking which larger events you try and qualify depending on your bankroll. The reason many big event FTs have casual players making it is a) they are probably in the majority of the field apart from the high-rollers and b) poker is a mixture of skill and luck and anyone can have a lucky run in a big event. I would not use a free entry or specifically try and qualify into a rebuy event as I would be so far disavdvantaged v a good portion of the field who can rebuy straight away, rebuy if they bust early and take the add-on. That's not being scared of taking a shot at a big tourney because of a skill gap, it's just common sense and trying to pick the big events where I will have a greater chance of a getting to a FT/taking it down. Anyway GL in UKOPs hopefully see you on a FT somewhere. Posted by Phantom66
Sorry Phantom, dont know what happened there, but that wasn't directed at you. Good luck to you as well mate.
In Response to Re: Poll: Would you play a monthly 50k Guarantee? : I like seeing some of the bigger names out before the end of late reg... the rebuy allowed in the roller is the reason I rarely play it this year Posted by chiggypig
I play the roller whenever work allows, as has been previously stated it is a re entry not a rebuy and with the fantastic structure it plays as a freezeout.
The difference the re entry option has made to how the tournament plays really is negligible.
Stop missing out on the best tournament of the week.
