I see in the rules, that the "League Of Leagues" is scored on each league's average. I'm guessing this is not the case, as it seems to me that they have only used an average of the top 5 in our league.
Hi mate you are right just trawled the rules and found it
The League of Leagues prize of £100 will be awarded at the end of the competition to the Chairman whose League is placed at the top of the League of Leagues Leaderboard. Entries to the League of Leagues Leaderboard will not be accepted after 1:30pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Average score per League will be based on the average of the top five scoring stables in each League.
Remember when I ran this before, the rules were the same and I stated in the opening post at that time that if we won the prize it would be divided by the people who counted for us. that was to encourage people to take it seriously . Forgot the rule this time as it happened I didnt need to "inspire " anyone as most people took it seriously and produced a great result.
The thing is anybody can shoot into top five even when they have been having losers. Look at last day 33-1, 25-1 etc so is important for all in table to keep bashing away all week.
If we had won this time I would have suggested we put the £100 on a horse to see if we could win a lot more rather than try and divide between 20 or 30 people. Will have to think when we do again which way to play it, carrot (divide between all of us)or stick (only the top 5 get anything) what do people think ?
For what it's worth I would split it between the top five and I say that knowing i am unlikely to be among them!
They would have been the ones who earned it and people can shoot up table a lot in one day so interest is still maintained. I was second at one point, fell down to about 30th and ended up 11th I think.
If you do split between everyone or put it on a horse you have the debate about which horse to choose, who has final say etc etc
That said, would happily go along with the majority. 😀
Ah thanks Terry. I think I'd just read the headline rules. Thanks for digging a little deeper for me.
On the £100 I think Pete is right. Keep it simple and just split it between the top 5. Maybe even go for a 40/20/20/10/10 split for a bit more incentive.
