SPT Manchester Grand Final Live Update

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 163,250

Afternoon all.

This will be the thread for the Live Update from Manchester starting tomorrow (Friday).

On Friday & Saturday it'll just be chit chat and a few photos, with overnight chip counts obviously, then on Sunday we'll do a full Live Update from start to finish.

Any time over the 3 days you want a chip count of any particular players, just shout & we will do our best to sort.

Hopefully, and with your help, we'll have a little fun along the way.

    We are, of course, in Manchester, and this is the Venue, a thoroughly splendid Victorian building just off Deansgate.

    The Sky Poker Team present?

    As far as I know, @Sky_SamT, @SkyKirsty and @Sky__James will all be in attendance. Kirsty has actually been promoted, & does stuff right across Gaming now, but still looks after various aspects of Sky Poker.

    There'll also likely be a VVSS (Very Very Serious Suit) or two in attendance.

    What is a VVSS? Director Level. Sam is a VSS (Very Serious Suit), Kirsty is a SS (Serious Suit), and James is a S.

    Here's James at a previous SPT Manchester, diligently doing his duty.

    Ambo, aka @NChanning, will of course be there, Racing Post under arm, smartphone in hand, logged into Betfair.

    Ask him nicely & he might just tip you a winner of the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle.

    Hopefully, this chap will be here, none other than Bad Jumper, seen here after winning a previous SPT Manchester;

    Bad Jumper was huge fun, a sort of Turbo Version of Ali Mallu.

    I'm not sure he passed a single hand pre-flop across the entire 2 days.

    This was a typical Bad Jumper hand, the old 5-3, & this was a pot that was 4 bet pre. He flopped the boat, oppo turned the straight. Next time someone says online poker is rigged send them this way.

    And if you thought that was a bit wide, here he had the 2-9. Obv.

    Still go into a cold sweat whenever I see a Christmas Jumper.
    Seemed a nice bloke and one thing he did do was enjoy his poker and play with a certain degree of flair and fun.
    Good Luck to him if he does participate.

    @Sky__James has arrived now after a fraught train journey from Leeds to Manchester, as his Laptop bag continued on to Liverpool. Thanks to super helpful Northern Rail staff, his laptop returned to Manchester on the next train & they have been happily reunited.

    Kirsty & Charlotte are here. Charlotte is Kirsty's sister, who has worked for SB&G for some time, but has now joined Sky Poker as they look to increase their staff count & quality.

    @Sky_SamT is here.

    Ambo? Well kick-off is 16.00, so he'll poll up at about 15.59.

    We have 50 players entered so far which means if my maths is correct that we are a quarter of the way to hitting the £100k guarantee. Late reg is open till around 8.45pm today so plenty of time for people to jump in after work.

    A few sky regs are sat right next to each other.
    @alancarr12 and @railtard11
    @NChanning @Alvez11 and @FeelGroggy
    @Tedson and @Sharki0

    Tikay is playing so apologies in advance for the poor quality/quantity of forum posts over the next hour or so whilst he remains in the tourney.
