A weird thought struck me as to those 4 overthrows off Stokes bat. If the ball had failed to reach the boundary, or been stopped short by a fielder, "convention" is that the batsmen would NOT run. I wonder if they would have broken convention & run though? Somehow, I think not. For all his faults, I think Stokes is an intrinsically fair sportsman.
There's camera angles of Stokes when it hits his bat and goes to the boundary for "6" - he just lies on the ground almost with his head down to the ground - no way was he running for anything!
