Oh well. Couldn't get away from turned top pair vs rivered straight, and then my A6 jam v K7 was no good. Had a (semi) blast, though, and appreciate the support/rail. Cashed for £217 in the end.

Thanks very much all, happy Mondaying.

Prob buys half a kilo of decent mushrooms in these corona virus post Brexit days, wp Steve, happy Mondaying.

Fillet steak and a bottle of Malbec, you have my attention.

Sounds like you know what you're doing but fwiw...My two fave sauce's, well ones a sauce and ones a bastardisation of a sauce and saute potatoes, for steak are..

Whilst the steak is resting, in the pan they were cooked in, fry some shallots and / or some mushrooms until soft, add a splash of brandy and cook for a further minute or so. Then a good splash of cream, season well and reduce a little.

The other one is exactly the same apart from along with the shallots and / or mushrooms, add some sliced par boiled new potatoes. ( works best if they're cooked a fair bit earlier and allowed to cool)

Anyhow, enjoy the steak and indeed the wine. GL with the pokerz and for spinning that RB.

Man after my own heart...Malbec...I play my best(which is skypoker def for cr ap) poker with a bottle by my side............

Minor amend on James's excellent additions above?

Make sure its whipping or double cream; single will split and I always fry of a chopped clove of garlic as well...

Hope you enjoyed and a good result to boot!

Hey James @LmfaoAllin you must pm me the name of your establishment so I can come and taste your food!

I do this! Sainsbury's organic double cream is pretty good. That vegan faux gras looks pretty decent, may give it a whirl. Thanks for hanging out here.

There's a weird synchronicity going on between me and Shaun Ryder. Same initials, same birthday, we both had the same literary agent for a while (Matthew Hamilton of Aitken Alexander, although one of us ended up binning the other one) and same nickname ("X"). I also got drunk with Bez a while back, which I'm sure he has done, too.

Decided to celebrate my borderline min-cash by taking my borderline hangover to a health spa for a night. Swam some lengths, smoked some cigarettes, watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine, loafed around in the Jacuzzi, ate alone (steak, peppercorn sauce, Argentinian Malbec), smoked some more cigarettes and am now ready for some light grinding whilst watching @Duesenberg 's (terrific) stream. Is this what you're supposed to do at a health spa? It feels like it is.

My bankroll, like me, is looking a lot more healthy than it did yesterday morning.

Thanks again for reading. Updates to follow later in the week.

    Starting bankroll: £212

Liking this diary (I dont like many).

A bit of humour in amongst the real poker exploits, with real writing.

Wishing you some run good this evening...go smash that roller. I mean the tournament, not the cooking utensil.

Thanks for the feedback, Samuel Pepys.

Glgl for the challenge SR! :)

The merest slip of an update because, well, stuff.

Considering my bankroll was at £89 last Sunday I'm pleased that it's hovering above £600 a week later, especially considering that I've barely played this week. Although pleased perhaps isn't the right word, it's difficult to be pleased about much at the moment. Ominous times. Or perilous times. Or perilous-ominous times.

Hope you're all doing okay out there.

    Thanks @Jac35 , @waller02 and @Teacakes - appreciate the support. You're good people.

Planning on updating more regularly and thoroughly towards the weekend and beyond but just feel completely flitty at the mo and I'm not putting in a ton of volume. The times I have played poker, though, have been a welcome distraction from the world unravelling - in particular an hour or so of cash on @Duesenberg 's stream last night which was a real joy.
