QUICKFEET CUP HEADS UP RULES BELOW:

Regarding the rules for this Heads Up comp. It's pretty much the same as last year, but for those of you that are new to it, please see details below:

When all results are in for the relevant round, I will make the draw for the following round using this site:

    https://www.daftlogic.com/projects-cup-fixture-generator.htm

All games will be £1.05 NLHE SPEED SNG's. (5min blinds)

Please use this fixture arranging thread for arranging fixtures AND posting results. Officially it will be the home player's (first drawn) responsibility for making contact, via this thread regarding the fixture, however if you are the away player feel free to initiate contact. If you can't get hold of your opponent on the thread, try a PM, failing that you could try and find them on chat when they are playing.

Synch up on the thread and decide who will reg and who will join and at what time. If you are the one "joining", please do so promptly to avoid a third party "jumping in". Use the rematch functionality until the match is won.

You may find it helpful to "filter" on "Heads Up" and "Micro" in the SIT & GO tab, then look for the (Speed) version.

Player's playing schedules/work commitments vary, so please be flexible/considerate to your opponent when choosing the date and time to play.

Round of 32 will be best of three.
Round of 16 will be best of five.
Quarter Finals will be best of five.
Semi Finals will be best of five.

FINAL will be best of NINE. (Will be sudden death if it goes to 4-4)

Fully engraved trophy and replica for the winner.

HAVE FUN! (it would be good if people were able to rail, so please do post on here what date/time you have arranged to play.)

    BEST OF LUCK!

    Previous winners:

    2019: Winner: @rspca12 - Runner Up: @PKRPar

Could crank this out tonight around 6pm, if that suits. Otherwise tomorrow or Friday any time up til 7pm is fine with me.

You not doing takeaways, James? Or are you just furloughed?

    @NOSTRI

Tomorrow 6 ish sounds good. Will post here when ready.

    @madprof

No mate closed the restaurant all together. Did takeaways and deliveries for the first week or so and it was going ok but as the details of the furlough scheme became clear it was a no brainer.

Staying open wouldn't of been sustainable. So did 10 days to clear stock then shut the doors.

You only get furlough pay if the business is no longer trading, which means staying open wouldn't of been sustainable. So did 10 days to clear stock then shut the doors.

Apologies for massive derailment here but so intrigued by this subject. Loads of takeaways/restuarants by mine have shut, a few are just doing takeaways/deliveries. I presumed with everyone at home demand for takeaways and deliveries would increase a decent amount, enough to keep restaurants making profit. Is there just not enough demand to warrant staying open or is there more to it?

not if it costs more to pay staff to keep it open and get less income as takeaways have diminished due to lockdown

My friend has a bakery/cafe, has furloughed all the staff and keeping it open for bread/cakes and some supplies all as takeaways(no seating used) - lots of orders and walk ins when the weather is ok but still way down on the normal weekly income

They were telling me last night that once the furlough is over, and with decreased footfall anticipated in the future and more importantly with the social distances still needing to be in place ,they won't be able to afford to have all of the staff back.....(tbf they won't all be needed in a quieter environment..)

A lot of businesses are just about ok with the furlough payments- even though they have to run a payroll and pay the staff before reclaiming it back- the (min) 10k business rate relief grant and eventually the interest free loans...BUT once the furlough payments are over, you will see a lot of smaller businesses go bump..unfortunately

Depends on a few factors I guess, business type, location, demographic etc.
For eg, if you're a takeaway with @hhyftrftdr as one of your patrons, you're sure to be ok.
Or if you're a Michelin star restaurant who has diversified into takeaways, whilst @cpfc_2010 has had to furlough the butler and the chef, he has kept the chauffeur on for food runs, so you should be ok, too.

Councils made things a lot easier for restaurants and pubs to diversify into takeaways, meaning this could be set up without much ££ outlay.
Its then down to individual businesses to assess whether it will be sustainable for them.

A lot will have furloughed the staff and be continuing with a skeleton crew or just the owners. Others may have just furloughed a few staff whilst some will have closed altogether.

As Danny has eluded to, this is merely the first hurdle for the industry to face. If you're lucky enough not to go bust, getting through the coming months and the foreseeable will be even more of a challenge with likely curfew / restrictions on gatherings etc.

Many industries will be in similar situations, I should imagine.

    Hi @QUICKFEET and all.

It looks like we have just cracked the £1,000.00 mark.

A £40.00 donation has just come in, taking us to exactly £1K. I am guessing from friends of yours Dave?

    Congratulations David!

Hopefully a few more donations will come in over the next couple of days as the remaining competitors yet to donate make their donations and potentially 4 new players too.

Many thanks to everyone for making this happen. I am so pleased for @QUICKFEET and everyone at THE MOVEMENT CENTRE

Yes... just blind blowing. The Movement Centre tagged me in a Facebook post about my poker challenge this afternoon and my cousin donated the £40 required to hit £1k.

A big proportion of that grand was donated by people on SkyPoker so massive thanks to everyone involved. You are all amazing! I never dreamt I'd get this much. It will make a big difference to the charity

    Hi @waller02 , Ryan?
Saturday/Sunday should be fine unless they re-open the golf club again. I won't hold my breath though. Just need to give me another shout nearer the time in case I forget.
    Look forward to it,
    Donald
