I always get the impression that John Terry thinks Frank Lampard will 'phone him one day & offer him the Assistant Manager gig at Chelsea, & it miffs him that it has not happened yet. He still has his gorgeous mansion in leafy Oxshott, which is just a 10 minute drive from Chelsea's training ground, far easier than the long haul up to Birmingham x times per week.
Yes Bobby Robson was a very special man. I used to work GRE in Ipswich and followed the Town in his glory years. Met him a number of times at GRE v Ipswich town Cricket matches and Sports Quizzes.
GRE - the insurance people? I'm not terribly familiar with Ipswich, but spent some time there when I was working on the Orwell Bridge when it was built some 40 years ago. (Lovely bridge, by the way). They had a huge ugly office block right in the middle of Ipswich. Over at Norwich, of course, Prudential had the Daddy of all grand office buildings, proper beautiful it was.
As to Sir Bobby, I'm struggling to think of anyone in football I have ever admired more.
