Yes Bobby Robson was a very special man. I used to work GRE in Ipswich and followed the Town in his glory years. Met him a number of times at GRE v Ipswich town Cricket matches and Sports Quizzes.
GRE - the insurance people? I'm not terribly familiar with Ipswich, but spent some time there when I was working on the Orwell Bridge when it was built some 40 years ago. (Lovely bridge, by the way). They had a huge ugly office block right in the middle of Ipswich. Over at Norwich, of course, Prudential had the Daddy of all grand office buildings, proper beautiful it was.
As to Sir Bobby, I'm struggling to think of anyone in football I have ever admired more.
You are right mate , wasnt that bad although not up to the glass menagerie that was Willis Faber. Good bridge that , well built, man of many talents TK.
As to Bobby we were very very lucky, not bad for a small town, The best two England Managers of all time produced by us and both knighted. Pity where we are now.
