Unlike your good self most of the salesman at Derby fitted the perception of the public that they were dodgy pretty perfectly

I was highly delighted when the most unpleasant of them all was featured on Rogue Traders a few years later. He had moved into damp proofing and was caught out trying to seal an expensive deal for a house to be damproofed when there was no damp whatsoever.

It wasn’t all bad. The secretary was stunning

How long did you work there?
About a year when i was at college
I was quite good at it and they gave me a team leaders role so i got % of the 5 in my teams sales
So it was worth sticking it out for the much needed beer money

The stories I could tell about the 1980/90's Double Glazing Gangs people wouldn't believe.

Did you work in double glazing?
No but the pub I used to drink in most of the men were fitters and each day after work they'd all swap stories of what they'd managed to get away with or had gotten up to in the customers houses that day.

    Quite entertaining, I would imagine.
