Little Arthur's step-mum is found GUILTY of his murder and father is convicted of manslaughter after pair tortured, starved and beat boy, 6, to death - as cop bodycam footage shows self-pitying murderer crying and claiming rake-thin boy beat HER

Emma Tustin, 32, (top) from Solihull, killed Arthur Labinjo-Hughes (right, with his father, Thomas Hughes) by repeatedly slamming his head on a hard service after she and 29-year-old Hughes repeatedly abused him. Today Tustin was convicted of murdering Arthur on June 17, 2020, during the Covid lockdown. Hughes was also found guilty of manslaughter for encouraging the killing, including by sending a text message to Tustin 18 hours before the fatal assault telling her 'just end him'. But he was cleared of murder. Also pictured: A picture of Arthur's bruises (left); and the couple together in court (bottom).

Stepmother who tortured and murdered Arthur 'wanted children for the attention they brought - and the child benefit': Her ex gives a disturbing insight as social workers face damning questions

As child killer Emma Tustin (bottom right) awaits sentencing for the murder of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes (pictured centre), a former partner gives disturbing new insight into the woman he calls 'a black widow'. Tustin killed Arthur Labinjo-Hughes by repeatedly slamming his head on a hard surface at her home in Solihull. Twisted Tustin then took photos of the six-year-old as he lay dying on the floor and sent them to his father Thomas Hughes (top left inset), who was found guilty of manslaughter alongside Tustin who was convicted of murder after a harrowing trial at Coventry Crown Court. Prosecutors described Tustin as a 'ruthless predator' who saw Arthur as her prey because she wanted something he had - his father. Now a former partner, and father to one of Tustin's own children, has spoken out, saying she 'had no maternal instinct whatsoever', only wanting children for the attention they brought her as newborns, and for the child benefit. He said once the attention died away and she was left at home with a baby, she 'didn't want to know'.

Revealed: Arthur Labinjo-Hughes' real mother was jailed for 11 years after stabbing her lover to death in frenzied drunken rage - leaving the little boy at the mercy of his father and his evil girlfriend

Full details of Arthur's horrific childhood, raised by his alcoholic mother, were revealed during the murder trial of Thomas Hughes, 29, and 32-year-old partner Emma Tustin at Coventry Crown Court. Arthur (right) was pushed into the custody of his father and his girlfriend after his real mother Olivia Labinjo-Halcrow, 29, (left) killed her partner Gary Cunningham (inset) by stabbing him 12 times with a kitchen knife in a drunken rage in February 2019.

Step-mother who murdered six-year-old Arthur whinges to prison bosses that she is being 'attacked' by jail inmates throwing SALT at her

Emma Tustin (left), 32, killed Arthur Labinjo-Hughes (right) by repeatedly slamming his head on a hard surface after she and 29-year-old Thomas Hughes (inset) starved the youngster and poisoned him with salt. Today, it has emerged that Tustin had already been attacked by inmates 'throwing salt' at her while on remand at HMP Peterborough, a criminal justice system source said. Tustin was today convicted of murdering Arthur on June 17, 2020. Hughes was also found guilty of manslaughter - but cleared of murder. Elsewhere, it was revealed that Tustin's trial was halted for several days after she took an overdose and was rushed to hospital.

Questions need to be asked , the social services and the police were called to the house two months before this tragedy after his paternal grandmother sent photos of a massive bruise on his shoulder and i mean it was huge and both authorities failed to even look, the woman at social services just lifted his shirt and looked at his back but not to where the bruise was
They walked away and left the kid with them two animals
It could have all been prevented if everybody just did their jobs , something needs to be done about the authorities they were totally inept
    like i said i'm raging

From this to this in WEEKS: Haunting Facebook post of family who begged social services not to let Little Star 'become another Baby P' but were dismissed FIVE TIMES - in yet another failing by authorities just 10 days after Arthur Labinjo-Hughes case

A bouncer has been found guilty of murdering a 16-month-old girl who died from 'utterly catastrophic' injuries after weeks of assaults and psychological harm. Savannah Brockhill, 28, killed 20-year-old girlfriend Frankie Smith's daughter Star Hobson (left) at her home in Keighley, West Yorkshire (right). Smith was convicted today of causing or allowing the death of a child. Star was taken to hospital on September 22, 2020, but the injuries she had suffered were 'unsurvivable', Alistair MacDonald QC told Bradford Crown Court. The jury heard the injuries which caused the toddler's death involved extensive damage to her abdominal cavity. These were 'caused by a severe and forceful blow or blows, either in the form of punching, stamping or kicking to the abdomen'.

Dismissed as 'racist homophobes', the great grandparents who tried to save Star Hobson: Toddler's injuries were ignored FIVE TIMES by social services after gipsy **** stepmother 'convinced them relatives who raised alarm were malicious'

    https://video.dailymail.co.uk/preview/mol/2021/12/14/333170590407213191/636x382_MP4_333170590407213191.mp4

Social workers investigating the couple (left) who killed innocent Star Hobson (top right) cleared them five times - even declaring a referral to them was 'malicious' the week before she was murdered. The authorities fell for mother Frankie Smith, 20, and her 28-year-old girlfriend Savannah Brockhill's lies, despite a series of concerns raised by relatives. During an unannounced social worker visit to their Keighley home on September 15 last year Star was so dazed by the abuse she had suffered she walked into a sofa. She had bruises on her face and shins but the Bradford City Council worker believed Brockhill's explanation she'd fallen down the stairs. In fact she was being 'choke slammed', swung by her leg and hit in the face by the twisted couple. They referred to her as a 'brat' and forced her to stand facing the wall for long periods of time during their reign of cruelty. In total two friends and three relatives - including Star's own father - had reported them to social services but they were still allowed to keep her. As the case concluded today, serious questions were being asked of the authorities. Two month ago the head of the council's Children Services department Mark Douglas (lower right) resigned. Ofsted rated the service as 'inadequate' in 2018 and warned 'some children were at serious risk of harm'. In June this year it was hit with a 'direction to improve' over a 'slow pace of change'.

Children's Services boss in charge of Star Hobson's care quit his £121,000-a-year post FIVE DAYS before killer couple went on trial

Mark Douglas (pictured) became Bradford Council's third Director of Children's Services to quit within a turbulent three-year period.

It is a desperately sad situation.

It is very easy for the Press to show outrage-sadly, the reality is rather more difficult.

Sadly, there are hundreds (and probably thousands) of situations where the parenting skills are brought into serious question, and Social Services get involved. Unsurprisingly, many of the parents are subject to malicious complaint by people with their own axes to grind (ex-partners, former friends and the like).

Still more are cases where, even though the parents are far from ideal, the risks associated with removing the child from their parents outweigh the risk of harm coming to the child.

It is very easy to point fingers after this sort of terrible case. Far more difficult to correctly pick the right ones with foresight, as opposed to hindsight. Because all parents (the good, the poor and the downright hideous) will all fight tooth and nail to remain in control of their children.

Social Services have a really difficult job. I couldn't do it. No-one ever mentions the thousands of cases where they make the right judgment call. Just the few where they do not.

I expect you could also argue that there may also be thousands of cases of abuse that dont actually result in the death of an innocent child, that they dont pick up on.
We only get to hear about the most extreme cases.
I dont think that any social worker is entitled to write off any complaint, by just taking a punt on it being malicious.
You would think that a social worker might have got a clue during a visit, subsequent to a number of complaints that a 16 month child that was referred to as a brat, was dazed, and also had bruises to their face, and shins.
Every time one of the cases occurs, we get the same old story about learning lessons, and we obviously dont.

Exactly, Social workers are there to protect the vulnerable people of society, they shouldn't be praised for doing their jobs but should be held to account when they fail to do so. Each time one of these stories come in to the public domain it's the same response,an enquiry will be launched.

Life is full of tragedy. Mainly tragedies that the vast majority of us are absolutely powerless to prevent or do anything about.

Some could be prevented though surely ,this is the crux of the matter here it should have been prevented
