I also got 12 months free Apple tv when I bought my phone, and 12 months free Discovery plus through Sky.
They both run out in April, so I must remember to cancel them before they start charging me.
    @stokefc take note :D

If I forget it will be my fault, and I will pay the money, before definitely cancelling.

No need to even bait the hook.

I have just cancelled my SKY subscription Entertainment package altogether. I only really watched SKY Sports Racing, and some Documentaries, and because I bought my Dad SKY (everything package) as a birthday present when it was on offer 2 years ago, I can get his package through SKY-Go. You can get it on up to 3 further devices, so I have it on my lappy, the wife's Smart TV, and on a Tablet that my daughters use.

When they said my Dad's package was going up to Full price after the Promo finished, I cancelled it completely....... waited 2 weeks 'til they offered him/me it for half price, and started it up again. ;)

The only thing we miss is the record (programmes are repeated so often that that doesn't really matter), Pause/Rew/FF but we are ok with that, and can get a set-top box that does all that if we want.

Hope this helps anyone who is looking to save some penniz because of 'The BIG SQqquueeeeeeezzZE' :)

As I wouldnt be able to sell the downgrade to Mrs Hayes, I will be forced to continue paying for the multiscreen each month.

Is Mrs Hayes the only living person who does not yield to your salesmanship then? Wise woman. If I were King for a day I'd make her a Dame or something, my God she deserves it.

I am certain she would appreciate your comments.
    I agree with them.
There is more chance of me becoming the next Pope, than her accepting that she cant record her soaps etc, and not able to ff through the adverts.
    I wouldnt even attempt it.

On which note, except for Sport, where I only ever watch "live" & so can't avoid ad breaks, I never watch ANY TV that had ad breaks unless I've pre-recorded it so I can FF through them.

I'm quite new - just a few months - to the glories of NetFlix & Prime, but the lack of ads is an absolute joy. NetFlix is quite easy to FF through, as are all regular Sky shows, but I find it quite cumbersome to FF on Prime.

It is more difficult to ff on Prime.
I am not sure if I watch anything with ads on there.

I have read your posts to my mother and she is quite in agreement with a lot of what you say. The quote "looks like he is onto a good thing". :) That's quite the compliment from mum.

Little background, she phones Sky, I would say twice a year to debate the prices and rightly in my view. She thinks Sky is pricey. It is and is antiquated too.

She will look into the HD stuff with Sky and phone to save the money over the next week or so. In the meantime I pay for her Disney and have cancelled my Netflix account which she uses up the stairs.

That Netflix account may not have been needed at all as it's no use to the account holder :). She uses my sisters Netflix account downstairs so two other people's accounts.

You may have saved us money and gotten my mum to see clearer. What a night! :D
Sky offering 'best ever' price for TV with broadband and it's super cheap

The incredible Sky offer gives customers the chance to subscribe to one of its popular TV and broadband plans at its "best ever" price.

The new deal, which is available at sky.com, includes a TV package and Sky's superfast broadband for just £30 per month.

It would normally set you back £25 per month for Sky's broadband alone - so you'll be getting Sky Q for just £5 extra with the broadcaster's latest bargain offer.

I'm an Amazon junkie and have been for years. I order so much from there that I've become the no 1 target for brushing 'scams'. I hesitate to call it a scam because free stuff just turns up from time to time and it's usually pretty decent, which is the whole point of a brushing scam. They expect what they sent you to be so good that you end up reviewing it.

Fwiw I even order Amazon brand loo roll on there. It's great value and top quality.

I was surprised when I logged in to my orders this morning.
The headline tells me I have placed 45 orders in the last 3 months.
A lot of them will be books.
I get audio books from Audible which Amazon owns.
It seems that the books I get from Audible count as an Amazon order.
I have got 20 odd left to read.
