The Euro 2024 Groups have been finalised and there are a few countries who qualified that surprised me whilst others have missed out. At least there will be some football betting in the Summer to build up a bankroll for the new football season in August.
This advice should stop the fans over indulging...
Fans travelling to Euro 2024 in Germany have been warned that beer in the country can be stronger than pints in the UK.
England and Scotland are the home nations to have qualified for this summer's tournament and the Foreign Office issued new advice for fans planning trips to the tournament.
The wide-ranging information includes the warning that German beer is typically stronger than lager consumed in the UK and also can be served in higher quantities, meaning drunk fans run the risk of being barred from stadiums.
It said: “Beer can be stronger than in the UK, so drink responsibly, know your limits and respect local laws. You may not be let into the stadium if you drink too much.”
Lager and ale in the UK average about 4.4 per cent Alcohol By Volume in strength, according to Drinkaware, The Times says.
However, beers in Germany are often 4.7-5.4 per cent although many are considerably stronger, up to about 16 per cent ABV.
It's understood hospitals in Germany often have to treat drunk Britons on stag dos who are caught out by the strength of the beer.
Scotland are taking part in the tournament's opening match as they face host nation Germany in Munich on Friday June 14.
England begin their campaign two days later when they face Serbia in Gelsenkirchen with ten venues hosting matches for Euro 2024.
The report adds that around 500,000 Britons are expected to travel to the tournament with the Foreign Office also advising not to buy tickets from touts and that illegally reselling tickets could result in prosecution.

England bottom of the group already. Southgate out I say.
Surely someone in Adidas or the German F.A should've spotted a potential problem before signing off the design of the numbers.
Adidas halt sale of German football number 44 shirts amid Nazi symbolism controversy.
The moves to withdraw shirts with number 44 came after it was pointed out that the two fours together resembled the stylized SS used by the Nazi Party’s Schutzstaffel group.
The German Football Federation and Adidas have stopped the sale of Germany football shirts featuring the number 44 due to its resemblance to the logo of the Nazi Party’s notorious SS paramilitary units.
Adidas announced on Monday the suspension of personalised shirt options with names and numbers, while the federation stopped the distribution of shirts bearing the number 44 from its online store and is actively seeking an alternative design for the number 4.
The decision came after social media users pointed out the resemblance to the now-banned symbol in Germany.
Rumours continue to intensify that Ruben Amorim could leave Sporting next season. On Tuesday, Florian Plettenberg, Sky Sports' transfer expert, confirmed the existence of a verbal agreement between the 39-year-old coach and Liverpool. The Portuguese coach is the favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Negotiations between the clubs are still ongoing.
At Anfield, Amorim will have a three-season contract, thus being linked to the Reds until 2027, in what would be his first experience of coaching abroad.
However, for the deal to materialise there still need to be negotiations with Sporting.
Amorim has a contract signed until 2026, and Fabrizio Romano reports that the release clause is 30 million euros (£25.7 million) for domestic clubs and 20 million euros (£17.1 million) for foreign clubs.
The same source revealed there is a pact to let him leave for 10 million euros (£8.5 million) if a top club comes along.
A former Portuguese international with spells at Benfica, Belenenses and Braga, Amorim is currently in his fifth season as Sporting's coach.
FA Cup replays will be scrapped from the first round onwards in the 2024-25 competition.
All rounds of the Emirates FA Cup will also be played on weekends, including the fifth round which has been played in midweek for the past five seasons.
The changes come as part of a new six-year agreement between the Football Association (FA) and the Premier League.
The Premier League has also removed its mid-season break from the calendar.
Matches will start in mid-August following a consecutive three-week summer break instead of a shorter spell of rest in the winter, with the decision coming from "expert advice from medical and technical departments".
In its current format, the FA Cup has no replays from the fifth round onwards, but the FA says the move to eliminate them from an earlier stage has been made "in light of changes to the calendar driven by the expanded Uefa competitions".
Uefa launched the Europa Conference League in 2021 and the number of teams in the Champions League group stage will rise from 32 to 36 next season. Fifa has announced an expanded 32-team Club World Cup for 2025.
The FA Cup qualifying rounds - where teams from the fifth to the 10th tiers of English football compete for 32 spots in the first round - will still have replays.
The first round of the FA Cup sees professional teams from League One and League Two enter, with Championship and Premier League teams joining from the third round.
Other changes will see the fourth and fifth rounds, and the quarter-finals, played without clashing with any Premier League fixtures for the first time.
The fourth round will be played in an extended window from Friday to Wednesday.
The FA Cup final has also been moved to the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season.
It will be played on a Saturday, and will also be independent of any Premier League matches, as will the Friday before the final "to allow focus on the build-up to the showpiece event".
I don't attend football matches these days, though I'm still an avid TV viewer. To me, there's always something quite exciting about an FA Cup replay, especially when midweek & under floodlights.
I understand WHY they are doing it though - the creeping expansion of European football, which is slowly killing the domestic game as we know it. And of course the reason for that is corruption & money.
