The Europa draw has been made, Jose Mourinho could have an interesting route to the final as he could face former clubs Roma and Man Utd before meeting another former club Spurs in the final.

The AZ tie should be fun. Troy Parrott was entitled to feel hard done by at Spurs, and will be looking for payback.

Meanwhile, how lucky are Spain? Both Barcelona and the winner of the Madrid Derby have a beauty of a run to the Semis ;)

In all seriousness, says rather more about how weak many of the other remaining teams are....

You played them at home in the league format and squeezed a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty and them down to 10 men. AZ have played and beaten some fairly good teams so far so it might be a bit closer than people think.

Yea but there are still a few who can cause an upset on their day. I'm still not too sure whether I like this new format or not.

    Probably true.

If you took the 16 CL and 16 Europa teams, how many would make the Top 8 from the Europa League at the minute? Think the answer is 0. Which is why Spurs are favourites.

How many would make the Top 16? 4? 5?

One interesting thing is how well the Dutch teams are doing in both competitions

It's not for me. At all.

Probably worse for Champions League than the lesser competitions. More meaningless fixtures, more byes and rest days for the best-funded teams...

Mere fact that it seems to be benefitting both Spurs and Arsenal this season is not the point...

This sums the new format up quite well. Arsenal played Atalanta in the first game and they played us off the park it ended 0-0 but only because Raya made a double save from a penalty.
