seen Simple Minds live a lot, remember seeing them in Queen Margaret Union early 80s just before Empires and Dance album. saw them after Celebration at Barrowlands then at Ibrox after New Gold Dream when they were starting to become huge, they were supported that day by Lloyd Cole and the commotions (who looked at the drummer for the whole show.....the only person who interacted and spoke to the crowd was Laurence Donnegan (the bass player and also of Altered Images- mmm Clare Grogan )

Yes his dad was secretary there i think, he plays a lot of golf now, what a song 'rattlesnakes is, and Billy Mackenzie was just a legend- what a voice- 'party fears two' is definitely in my top 10 tunes ever this is a terrific cover they did of a Diana Ross song
Saw 'A Certain Ratio' at The Voodoo Rooms last year, they were absolutely tremendous.....4 cowbells and 2 bass guitars ps they make me look young, and that takes some doing
Wanted to put here 2 songs from another artist/band who has been unjustly overlooked. Graham Parker & The Rumour. A strange mix-roots very much in pub rock if the mid-70's, as shown by band members being ex-Brinsley Schwarz and Ducks Deluxe. Looked like Punks. And yet played a mixture of Rock and Disco.
That new future island track really is a good one, they dropped a new album yesterday as well, will be checking that out later……..I’m going back to work today, glad to be feeling better!

this one is not really one of my favs at all, but that last track reminded me of it;
the next one is much better, if you aint listened to arab strap before recommend giving them/him a wee listen, some cracking tracks;
