I agree that there are many Springsteen songs that don't appeal to people and these are usually ones where he tries too hard to be meaningful. However, he continued the chain that went from Donavon through Dylan then Springsteen and onto possibly Sheeran.
His biggest hit Born in the USA is played at many events and occasions where the US have a National Team, yet the irony is that Springsteen wrote it as an Anti American commentary.
I suppose that says more about the stupidity of Americans than anything else.
3 based around gyms and such today. The first is a personal bugbear of mine regarding gym etiquette and anybody who uses a gym regularly will understand the sentiment.
The second is a parody of of 80's and 90's gyms and the awful films such as "Perfect" which starred Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta.
The third is just there because I'm a huge fan of the show.
Whilst sorting my bets out this morning I had the Kerrang channel on and heard this in the background. It's surprising how many songs you actually forget about until you get a reminder.
I gather "Kerrang!" goes off air on 30th June. Sad times, loved that channel.
Yea, also all the other connected channels disappear that day as well, they have 'oldie' and 'newbie' channels that serve a purpose but I guess money/profits decide the fate of things today instead of popularity.
When Kerrang first launched as a magazine in the very early 80's it filled a gap in the music press of the day which singularly ignored heavy metal.
It was for several years bought religiously by those who were fans of the genre and became almost the Bible of metal.
However, following the launch of the TV channel Kerrang became a watered down, soft version of itself eventually pandering to pop punk and the emo generation.
In the eyes of many original readers and viewers it is seen as a mercy killing. Kerrang has not been faithful to its roots for almost a quarter of a century, the patient is not recovering, time to pull the plug.

Sad all the music channels are gone/going, I guess its just TV as a whole, I've no watched normal telly for years, apart from live sports, I don't think I could handle all them adverts every 10 mins.
I was an MTV2 viewer back in the day, this track is one I remember from there, musta been played 100 times a day;
