had a go at satalite yesterday for a £1 and have qualified for tonites 5-00 also came 2nd in a deepy last nite so am off to a good start for this month really appreciate your input to the diary m8 cheers
Hi DTW This is a great post. I have enjoyed reading it. It was really good reading your enthusiasm for this great game. Hope you managed to sort out your earlier problem with the posts. This is a lovely site and I just love the deepstack games. Having a few technical problems at the moment but by Friday it should all be sorted out. Look forward to seeing you on the tables and a great start to your "poker knowledge" Pamxx Posted by tiggerace7
hi pam
thanks for your nice comments pam but this post wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you m8 3 months ago you & bigsteve42 tought me deepstack i got into it and learnt loads from you both then i spread me wings a bit around all types of poker & now back to deepy's so if it weren't for you taking the time to show me the ropes this thread wouldn't be here
hi all Had been thinking about playing Cash Tables at the start of the month then i watched Saturdays show with Rich & Tikay & here's what happened
Rich & Tikay were chatting about what Cash Tables to play and how they both choose there tables Rich generally picks a seat thats available as do I and probally most people do i thought thats what you did so Tikay looks in shock and goes on to explain how he selects his tables so i grab me notebook ears at the ready this is what i learnt enjoy
1. check your bankroll - what can you afford to lose / how much to take to tables when learning 2. firstly be more selective - have a look around the tables first /watch a few tables see how they are playing / 3. bankroll - pick a blind level you will be comfortable at / don't run b4 you can walk 4. opponents - check who you are playing against / know when too leave a table
so armed with some new knowledge (tikay's) off i went to cash tables sat & sun nite
on sat went to a 2/4 blind table took £3 to it first thing i saw was a mad table thought outta here and left had a look through 4/8 blind tables a lot of them were full so watched a couple then watched one called Nantes thought this would suit me joined wait list 10 mins later was in the game brought £5 to table managed to grind upto £7-50 & left with £2-50 up next went to calais table watched for a bit then brought £5 to table was here quite a while finally left & was £7-44 up then called it a nite
sun had a sess at calais was up and down left £2 up in afternoon played a few tourney's then after back to cash tables had a look around as i now do (thank god) joined a table at nantes struggled a bit here (think i still had bad vibes from bad beats in tourney's earlier) left £5-86 down so went looking for another table watched lyon thought yes took me £5 to the table within 20mins up £2-50 then people started leaving so left £3-53 up & thought gotta find another table b4 i call it a nite after a fair bit of looking i found it Marseille spent about an hour here was getting late when i left the table i was £10-79 up
it has taken 1 Rich & Tikay Show and a couple of days putting into practice what i learnt to find a level i am comfortable at for cash tables which i think won't put to much strain on my bankroll this month
my challenge to myself is to see if i can make an average profit for september on cash tables
Looks good to me Michael, not that i'm all that keen on cash (hold-em) games as a way of making profit on line. However i do play occasionally, more for a break from tourney's .. I think the most important thing is to take your breaks, don't play tired, and keep doing what your doing !!
Hi m8 gd to see your making a profit, i only dabble in cash myself a little, but i would say stick to the level your playin untill you are regulary beating it. If you continue to win then think about moving up a level. If you make the step and it dosent work out dont be afraid 2 drop bk down again. Keep the profit turning over m8 thats wot its all about, gl at the tbs Ozzie

About 3-4 years ago I played mtts on a UK site and also moderated a poker forum. It was called the 1808gang and we had some very good players in what was an invitation only membership. At the time I was playing very well and hitting the prizemoney 1 in 2.4 mtts played. Some young players used to railbird me and some other successful 1808 members. The young players came onto the forum asking a lot of questions regarding mtt strategies and posting hand histories for members comments. These young guys were really keen and they improved rapidly. Soon they had invitations to join the ''gang'' and were regular contributers to the strategy forums.
Four years later one of them is a top high stakes cash player, one has a WSOP final table placing to his name (6th) and the other was last year ranked No1 in the online mtt world rankings. Those three young guns were Sexygee, Badpab and Moorman. Now I need to ask them questions!
