I have made it clear to the TD that I think he made the wrong decision and he apologised but still stood by his decision. I said in my opinion the hand should have been voided but he made it clear he didnt think that was fair on the lady with the pocket aces even when she should never have hit trips as there was an extra ace in the pot. But as they say the referees decision is final and there isnt much I can do now but I do think they need to revise their ruling on it personally.
I dont know about big casino spenders being at the table but the tournament was a £1k guaranteed FREEROLL tournament with optional £20 rebuy so hardly a big money tournament so I did feel a bit funny kicking off about it really but I did tell the TD it was the principal I was kicking off about not the £20.

I may take it up with Grosvenor head office but will see what information Dave gets from his visit tonight. At the end of the day he has got free entry into the £50 tournament tonight starting at 6pm as a result of it all so may be they feel I have now been compensated so that is the end of the matter.
Still not something you would expect from a large chain of casino companies.

it's now fairly obvious-this was a mistake by both the dealer and td-- however dont be put off live tournaments-- they are the best form of poker-- and im sure you will experience the real fun of the game at the SPT-- good luck--
The £50 is probably them back peddling, tbf it is a nice gesture in the sense that they know it was a mistake on their part and are rectifying it now - as for playing live - never fear - DTD is the bees knees as grandad and Beneah have stated so a totally different experience for you that you will LOVE!!
I would never 'blame' the dealer, even if it was his/her fault. They are on crummy wages, and as Tikay said are not trained to the highest of standards in most casino's. Even the rules and etiquette are not clear cut and uniform from venue to venue, everyone makes mistakes, anyone you says they have never made a mistake has never made anything, and i'm sure dealers don't go into work saying 'how can i mess up today' As for the TD, they are supposed to be 'experts' and are paid better, accordingly they should be better!

One thing that im not quite so sure on looking back on everthing ive just read. Did you complain about the hand instantly or was it during the next hand that the other players came out that they had folded the A2 and A10? Posted by The_Don90
Yes I did complain at the time and asked for the hand to be voided to told he couldnt do that and he couldnt give me my 4K chips back even if he wanted to as couldnt add chips to play and wopuldnt be fair on the woman who had won the hand with the aces etc.
Interestingly I heard later that he took a stack of about 13k of chips out of play as the player announced he was going home. I thought in that case they just sat at the table and blinded out? I wasnt involved in the game at this point though and just heard this through someone else.
Just doesnt sound like the whole poker scenario is being organised very well at this particular casino to me

DTD is pretty amazing place and is actually where I played my 1st ever live game of poker about a year ago....lol talk about starting gently - not.....lol
I will be at DTD SPT final for sure as I have loved the SPT's I have been to so far but may just rail yet.

They can not at any point take chips from the table for an away player - he must be blinded away surely!!

I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing and said surely he cant do that. I was told that the TD reasoning was the bloke had said he was going home therefore not returning so the chips were taken off the table therefore taken out of play.
I wonder what his response would have been if I had offered to have taken over the persons place seen as I had been knocked out by then....LOL
I really think they need to have a serious look at their poker rules and the way their poker room is being run.

Back from my weekend away - I just caught up with this thread.
When I read Sian's initial post, I had the same reaction as Tikay: easy decision; the hand should be declared void; everyone gets their chips back. Simples.
The actual rulings by this TD / cardroom manager are ridiculous, but, sadly don't shock or surprise me.
Dave & Sian - I hope you have the good sense not to return to this venue. It's undeserving of your business.
