This is probably a silly question but can I or anyone play and qualify to a SPT and choose the venue they want to use it for ... ie: Win A Sat to Manchester but use it for Swansea or Luton ? Transferable is the word I'm looking for ...? ty benny Posted by bennydip2
Hi Benny, There has been no mention of it, so i doubt that you can exchange. If it were to be allowed then all the qualifiers would have to take before the first leg, and that was not the way it happened last year. Interesting idea m8 col
Quick question - possibly already answered but I couldn't be bothered to trawl through 8 pages odd to see. What's the watching capacity like? As in I plan to bring with me some suport as I've never reached anything like this before and may never again Is there ample room for them to peer over? Other things going on to keep them entertained etc?
One further question - maybe a silly one - are the games dealer dealt? Please say they are as I am the world's worst shuffler and may have to receive some assistance on my turn.

Watching capacity. Yes, anyone can Rail. Railers should not "crowd" the Players too much, but that apart, yes, Railers are most welcome. Not sure about "ample room", most Casinos, this one included, squeeze the tables & chairs into a small space, so it's all a bit squishy, but yes.
Entertainment for them? There will be Presenter SNG's going once the Presenters exit the Tourney, & later - much later - there MAY be a Tighty SNG or two. If non-poker entertainment is preferred, there will be a Cabaret in the Evening, or at least a "turn".
G casinos tend to have a 'sports lounge' with loads of TV screens showing football. Also a bar area and a restaurants with good quality food at reasonable prices. Then of course theres the pit with roulette/blackjack/3 card poker. Can't say for sure that the Manc one will have all thos, but the 4/5 G's that I've been in have always that kind of setup.
I go to the G Luton fairly often on Saturday nights, and my mates who don't really gamble or play poker love it for the non-gaming stuff.

G-Manchester is pretty much a carbon-copy of G-Luton, all as above.
The actual technical difference between the two Venues is something only a very sad Live Poker players would notice. The Poker Tables at Luton have no "upstand rail" as such, & so cards fall off the Table easily & frequently when being dealt. At Manchester G the Rail has a little upstand, so cards don't fall off the Table.
How sad is it that I know that, on a Level of 1 to 10, when 10 is the ultimate saddo?
Also, for trivia buffs, Luton G is not near a Prison, but Manchester G is just round the corner from Strangeways Prison.

Is a tighty sit n go a 22 seater trny ?? Just had the idea, then that would be EVERY card was in play, You may need alot of patience and a banquet table to play it, but would be funny

Nope.
It's poker as you've never seen it.
The Rules are based on Mornington Crescent - he makes the rules up as he goes along. And you don't argue with him.

Upping the geek-quotient a little, G Manchester and G Luton are actually identically the same design and lay out. G Manchester was built two years before G Luton and thus looks a little less "Pristine" than Luton
The poker table difference tikay has already spoken about. Indeed playing at Luton last week the dealer dealt me a card so fast that it sped off the table and past my right shoulder like a fighter taking off from an aircraft-carrier.
The other key difference though is that the poker room at Manchester is open..ie you can see the gaming tables because the dividing wooden section stops at waist height
At Luton this divider extends to the ceiling meaning the poker room is far more enclosed.
As far as Luton is concerned the original plans has two enormous glass double doors being erected at the two entrances to the room. Sadly, they were built incorrectly and faced with a six figure bill to re-manufacture the idea was dropped, hence Luton is "semi-open"

the rule I tend to prefer is as follows
8 Card Omaha High, No limit, Jacks and Deuces are wild, must be played at least once in the first orbit
On one such occasion in Cardiff, I believe three newbies gave up poker on the spot, and the discussion about whether Six of a Kind Jacks beat an alleged seven of a Kind Pocket Twos went on for so long that Cardiff City built a new ground in the interim.

Interesting fact tikay. Wish Luton had the raised tables as a couple of weeks back, in the sickest cash game ever I was super deep with a fish, and on the button, and had been raising almost every pot, one of my cards sped off the table and I woulda had KK...it was the lovely Raj tho so I forgave her

I should think so too. You may not be aware, but Raj & I are an item.

If tikay's reputation is anything to go by, I'm sure he'll be around to 'entertain' her

Satellites now are for Manchester only, therefore

Yes - the Tournament will be 100% Dealer-dealt.
