Hi Tikay, just wanted to let you know that i bubbled again tonight in the SPT Semi, so 7 semis and 2 bubbles so far. So if there are any seats left and i don't make it and you need another Ambassador or guest, you know who to phone!! It was a pleasure to play with you in the deepstack, it was a very good game. Back to the SPT tomorrow lol!!

If we're having a competition at 'who is most useless at the SPT sats' then I'd like to enter by saying that I have so far played in NINE sats without qualifying.

    Hi Dr Marbles.

If you need help with your game, try watching some of our better Players - Uzi-Lover, for example - & that should help.

Please also note that the Dress Code at G-Manchester, while fairly relaxed, may not be relaxed enough for your normal mode of dress.

I suppose I'd better add a smiley to that last Post, lest it seems rude - but we don't have them. So this will have to do.

    ;)

Dr Marbles is an old friend, a good friend, & a special friend, from another place.

Believe it or not, he's a Poker World Champion, too. I kid you not.

His Bro, Uzi-Lover, is a much better player, though.

Trivia Thingie - both DrMarbles AND his Brother, deepie specialist Uzi-Lover, have won the Sky Poker Sunday Night £110 Deepie.

Can any other Brothers claim that?

Hi Tikay, "where's Skicowboys" u asked when looking at the names of the 3 quallifiers.
5 of us left, 3 seats and 22 quid for 4th, so yes i finished 5th.
I am 4th out of 5 in chips. I have JJ vs AT, ten on the flop, blank on the turn........Ace on the river.
I can't do much more, it's the emotional roller coaster of the 19 odd £5.20 sats and the 8 or 9 semis, its taking it's toll! I'll be back tomorrow and try again but the frustration is enormous and this is supposed to be fun and i'm not enjoying it, so maybe i should stop.

Hotel Guides anyone?  Partner and child (11 yr old) are coming with me and so I am looking for a family room.  I am looking for functional rather than luxury - There is a premier Inn called 'Manchester (Heaton Park)' that is in the same M8 post code area - does anyone know how far from the casino it is?

    Hi Ben
If you get the postcode for the casino, put in hotels near and it will show you a few
You could also try the hotel in the thread that is a bit further down this list.
Its the Park and sky have done a deal.

Hi SPT team....just a suggestion....to help those of us with failing eyesight....although I defy ANYONE to have been able to read the name badges that were worn on last years tour from the other end of the table....How about making the most visable thing on the name badge the USER NAME as this is the name that most of us are known by and recognise in others....then the REAL NAME....Last year I thought that my whole table was called SKY POKER....

    Hi Mike,

I endorse that. It's one for SPT Rich, or the Marketing Peeps, but I agree with you 100%. I could make the commentating 100% more interesting & informative if I could read the players name-badges, but I need to get within a few inches of the name-badge to be able tro read it. When the badge is being worn by a pneumatically buxom young lady, this sometimes leads to misunderstandings.

We have our weekly SPT Tele-Conference this afternoon at 3pm, & I'll raise this issue with Rich & the Suity sorts.

Good to hear! I forgot abou that, which is something people have said every leg, not the sort of thing you remember until you are at the venue

Yeah thats unlucky Tikay, no more lifing up your glasses and  peering into the ladies clevage. Maybe they could arrange that only Male name tags have large lettering and Female's stay the same?? Just a thought ;-)

What time do we need to be at the casino for registration?

Do we need to register as members of the casino before we arrive?

    Cheers

    ps.

We are setting off from Shetland on the Thursday night ferry that gets into Aberdeen on Friday morning, however it's not unknown for our ferries to be cancelled due to weather conditions.

Worst case if we get into Aberdeen on the Saturday morning i may be a bit late for registration at the casino, can i register by phone as we travel and have my seat pay the blinds till i arrive?

Yah, posting the ROI's of every player that has played more than 30 WPT events (lol, sample size), then needling them is pretty classy.

    Yo Shetland Man,

There are two seperate things here.

    1) Registering to be a Member of the Casino.

You can try Online Registration, but really, you will still need to do some form-filling, & show ID, when you arrive. It should not take long though, 2 or 3 minutes.

    2) Registering for the Tourney.

No need - you are Pre-Registered. Just make yourselff known to SPT-Rich or myself when you arrive, & we will issue your name-badge & "cross you off the list". If you don't know what we look like, SPT Rich is a sturdily built chap, about my age,  & I am more athletically built, & look a lot younger than him.

Please note - it's a standard rule - ENGLISH ONLY at the Tables. ;)

Can't wait to see you. All the way from the Shetlands - extraordinary!
