Sky Priority Freeroll

First three places receive a VIP hospitality package for a match at the theatre of nightmares ie OT. The other prizes are free bets. Could SP not have made it something like a hospitality package to any premiership game on a set date?

This might appeal to all those man utd fans (who generally dont come from manchester) but to the rest of us non glory hunters it isnt really an incentive to play the freeroll.

In my opinion and im sure a lot of other sky regs last months priority freeroll with hard cash prizes was much more appealing.

I think the prize is decent, its for a Champions league game in November which i believe will be Benfica.

You and a friend get a four-course meal, £50 bet each and a FREE BAR!

Im a Northampton fan, so anything is better than watching us. Il be trying my best to finish in the top 3! One time!

I think its a great prize. You don't need to support the team to enjoy the game. Its a VIP day out at one of the best stadiums in the premiership. Not sure how much that would set you back but I imagine its a 4 figure sum.

Thats even worse, who wants to trapes up and down the country to watch a footy match that doesnt involve their team. Travelling costs/petrol cost of a hotel hardly make this a great prize, unless you are one of the many man utd fans from croydon.

I would say the package is worth no more than a few hundred quid, it wont include entry into an executive box. Its basically a slap up meal with a good seat, nothing special.

As for OT being one of the best in the prem, there are at least 2 other stadiums that are miles better.  Sky shouldnt be offering prizes that only cater for a small section of the community. They could have just as easily offered a club wembley day out for an england game. That would have been miles better.

I'm not a Man U fan...not even that much of a football fan (used to see Fulham play quite regular when I lived near the stadium tho) and I think this is a fantastic prize.

I think that for the vast majority of people, they will see it as an excellent day out.  Probably only people like you who support a rival team will have a major issue, but even then you can support Benfica and still have a great day out?

Would you be saying the same if it was a VIP package to an Arsenal CL game?

I like how the Priority club keep their freerolls fresh with new ideas and would like to see more of these experience days than freebets/free money IMO.

Sky don't have to put anything on. The priority freeroll is a voluntary freeroll laid on by skypoker for the priority club members with various prizes from time to time. Obviously skypoker has managed to bag 3 tickets for a champions league match through sky sports to give to a customer. If the winners can't or don't wish to go, i'm sure they can donate the prize to someone else who would love to go (and no not me lol) I bet if the first prize was a weeks holiday all inclusive to Barbados, you would still get people saying why not the Maldives etc lol.

Ohh no doubt I would support benfica Scotty, however, im old school when it comes to football. This package is about mixing with the prawn sarnie brigade which in my opinion arent true football fans.

I come from the era of standing in a packed terrace, the banter, the atmosphere the nowhere to go to the loo era when youve had ten pints! Club Level at Arsenal is the equivalent and I have been there once with clients of my old firm, very nice as a one off but id rather slum.

As for selling the package on ebay as someone else has mentioned, its illegal to sell football tickets/packages for a profit. Im sure ebay would pull any such listing.

    This.

Or Sky can give me the money and i'll take the winner to a game of their choice at Hillsborough, get them a couple of pints in a local boozer and then buy them a Beres roast  pork sarnie.

    THIS.

I am continually asked why I hardly go Stoke nowadays and that sentence has hit the nail on the head! The old Victoria Ground was so much better IMHO before all seated stadiums came in and then the 'business' of football was geared towards the commercial side of the game, rather than the regular fan who followed their team through thick and thin.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I totally get where you are coming from.

As for the main point of this thread.....its a FREEROLL for a minority of the community.....be thankful.

Not a stretford rangers fan/not much of a football fan, says it all really, no wonder you think this is a fantastic prize. l'm with the OP, this is a pointless useless prize for the majority of non stretford fans, in my case why would I want to go to the swamp after Sunday? Sure offer an experience package but not limited to one team/venue and certainly not for a team/venue that is hated by most football fans, ie the vast majority of people.

"Probably only people like you who support a rival team will have a major issue, but even then you can support Benfica and still have a great day out?" Are you really this naive??

Good attempt at a brown nose, but on this occasion it's a FAIL.

I am not and probably won't be in the priority freeroll for a long time, but I think "Packages" like this (Not necessarily football) are a great idea rather than cash. To a large chunk of the priority players the actual cash on offer isn't exactly amazing so a day out is better imo

As has been mentioned by stien they are great packages if you support man utd. Most football fans of other prem teams hate man utd (Liverpool, Newcastle, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc). So why cater for a small cross section of the community.

As for priority status, I have to say you can do it at lower stakes. Playing £10/20 hypers (which required a modest br compared with some of the higher stakes games cash games) will get you to priority in under 120 hours play per month. The priority freeroll last month had a first prize of £500 cash, not to be sniffed at if you are a lower stakes player.
