what are you actually hoping to achieve by playing low stakes dyms?

If its with the intention of becoming a full time dym reg then carry on.

If not, then stop messing about playing way under your roll at a level and format that you won't become a better all around player by playing and go and take some shots.

So you're heading in the direction of quadrupling your BR in not THAT long a time really and you're moaning cos at one level of stakes you're break even (granted it is the one you've put the most volume into lol). But an overall win-rate of 59% for DYMs is really really good, almost unsustainable unless you are a REALLY good player

The state of players at £3, makes this level easily beatable - hence my frustration as to why it's taking so long
I just wanna grind £5 level for a while as it doesn't seem too hard
Nature of these shove fests on the bubble means varaince will either kick you in the boolocsxs or really kick you along chucking money at you

If you lose, not much harm done.

If you do well, you can try again the day after and it could just skip a few levels of cash for you.

Definitely worth the shot IMO, although maybe it would be worth trying on a saturday night as games are obv easier then.

Whatever you do GL : )

Hi mate, been reading ur posts recently and must say excellent read.

I do believe firstly, that on the roll you are playing, you really need to step up from the £3 tables and get up to the £5 tables. The difference in quality imo, is not really that much different.

Secondly, and this isnt a knock on ur ability as a player, but to of played 200 games at the £3 tables and make no profit, then maybe you need to re-assess ur strategy. Take a look at hand histories and see where u could of tightened up and where u should of been more aggressive. I dont want to sound patronising, but its clear u are a very capable player and you should be making more at the 'devil's game'.

You will get there tho im sure. gl

    Cheers for the input

Think my strategy is fine, maybe I can tighten up in a few spots and not take races so early for example but overall I am happy with my DYM game.

Because the line is so thin it really doesn’t take much to bring you from 59% down to 55%. Also if I get a good run, I’ll be up again.

Seems I can equally win four and lose four on the bounce

    Swingy!

It does make you realize just how super nit tight you should be playing to ensure you stay away from flips unless your on the bubble and short stacked.

Ranny you're a sensible guy I presume, so I also presume you realise moving up to £5.50 will NOT make the games any easier, more REGS playing tight like you ain't fun lol.

The best thing for you to do is post some key hands in the clinic or analysis as if over 200 games at £3.30 you're not in profit then you're clearly doing some fundemental thing wrong, you probably don't even realise it but it could be having a major effect.

FWIW I've moved back to DYM's after having a go at the Hyper's as they were just too crazy with variance etc. I had my two shots at £5.50 from last month but had to drop down to £3.30 then build up again, I have done now and had another 2 shots and currently close to getting stable. Anyway point is my £3.30 total record is 151 played 94 won and this is purely using JC's guide pretty much to the letter. The only slight adjustments that you need to make are when to shove late on that's where experiamce is vital.

An example - it's often better to shove in the SB w/3bbs at 150/300 than 4.5bbs UTG 4-handed both with air as just one player to get past.

200 games is a tiny sample so i wouldnt worry that ur break even imo.

    Keep plugging away.

You say just 'keep plugging away', but if what he's doing is fundementally wrong than he could 'plug away' till he dies and never get better.

Obviously he needs to keep posting hands for advice and generally trying to improve.

But the only way he'll know if hes doing the right things is by playing and "plugging away".

But theres no way you can say after 200 games breaking even that hes doing something fundamentally wrong, because the sample is way too small.

The best dymers will go through a period of 200 games where they lose money.

I think focusing on posting hands where he was unsure of the right decision (there must be some surely lol) is more important to him than playing more volume and especially if he's considering moving up !

Most basic concept in poker is only move up when you're winning.

I think they both go hand in hand.

But yeh you're right theres no point in moving up at the minute.

Thanks for the comments, I honestly don’t think I am doing that much wrong.

I seemed to be doing fine and have just hit this brick wall.

I remember doing this in cash but just carried on playing the same and finally I got out of it.  You just seem to go through period where you can’t win a hand no matter what.

There are probably spots where I should open fold but apart from that I think my game is ok.

I am looking at more avoiding flips when 1st or 2nd and only entertain flips when I am short stacked.

Plus I think I really need to tighten up on my EP shoving ranges will help, then I should stop running into bigger hands when I am not short stacked.

Going to keep on with the £3 for a while and post any hands I am not sure about.

    Keep you posted

Also the reason I am playing this level of DYM is because even though I am rolled for higher. No point trying to run before you can walk is there )

Even though I have found some soft £5 games thanks to scope, I will try and resist taking any more shots till I reach £100 DYM BR.

Out of interest how do you find time to use scope, I find the £3-£5 games fill up pretty sharpsih like 1-2 minutes if that.
