In Response to Re: Apat UK Team Championship 23/24 Jan2010 : Thanks Leigh, Thought so. We will have a team but how do Apat come to the final team selections and when do they announce it? Frank.

As you know, we are just in the process of compiling interest and will give people a few weeks to register their interest.  Then comes the tricky job of selecting the succesful teams.  It's hard to say how this will be achieved as it's not really a black and white decision process. Some teams that played last year, like the reigning champs Bristol and South West Poker Meetup, are guaranteed a team, others will be discussed when the interest is registered.

I can't confirm when we will release the final team lists, but keep an eye on the forum for updates and I will try and post on here if further news appears.

I've not played one of the APAT Team Championships, so if you find yourself short a person (which I highly doubt!), put me into the mix :)

Well I dont mind stepping up as captain, I came up with the idea so thats fine by me if you all want me to.

I think we should nominate a captain and that person should make the selection. Think it should be based on ability as well as contribution to the forums. Will be tough decision who ever becomes captain, but we need to get a place first!!

Costs for this tournament are £50 for the buy in plus travel and accommodation, it's the same casino as the next leg of the SPT for those planning things like that.

I agree with whoever suggested the tournament to qualify, and the top 10 finishers qualify for the team. Either that or a random draw where we get a list of whoever wants to play, assign them a random number and then get someone off-forum to pick 10 numbers (or use random.org lol)

personally dont like the tourney idea... only unless it was a series of tournaments... too much luck involved in poker to have the team selected on the outcome of 1 game

Have a league then - could someone set up 5/10 or a random number x £0.50 tournaments or something like that and have a league where scores are 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for top 10. Obv cos of the way the target tournament is then it'd have to be 10 handed tables...and password protect it with people having to register their interest on the forum to get the password.

Wouldn't make the buy-ins for league any more than £1 - dont wanna put people off qualifying because they cant afford to play all 5.

    Hi,

I suggest you set an end date for interest to play and after that if you supply me with a list of names I will set up 5 private qualifying tournaments over 5 nights if the numbers interested exceed the team requirement's. You will then need to submit your team and keep your fingers x'ed. Along with Sky_Dave if you are short I'll be glad to join in - I live in Manchester, so it's close to home...

    Regards,

    Bernie

Well i believ elast year it was simply an MTT all vs all, but scored points on where you finished, then you need to put team points together...
