Another losing session, about 1/2 BI down. Pretty much all my losses came from 2 hands that I thought were standard but after speaking to people, they debate whether it was standard.
I raise 5x pre with AQ, shorty reshoves for another 25BB (on top of my bet), folds round to me, last to act, I call and see him turn over ATs, he flops a ten and I lose. Now I'm not complaining about the bad beat, but I thought this was completely standard when others have said I should fold to the shove.
5 mins later, almost identical situation, me with AQ only this time when I call it's AA lol.

Thank you Doh! Cos I've been told I should have folded to the shove and I just can't see that being correct at this level. Hands in the clinic to see exact stack sizes but I'm sure I was right.
Wow, stroke of luck there, maybe the tables are turning for me and I'll start making back some of the losses I've made so early. Just managed to get AQ in against AK on Ahigh board, and managed to bink the Q :P
So I'm 1 BI up for the session so far Still a few hours to go yet though
Woo, I finally got a good winning session under my belt. I do love Saturday nights lol... I got some truly bizarre calls when i was value betting rivers tonight.
Been chatting to Doh about my pokering and my dipping in and out of various formats recently... and basically, after plowing money into SPT satellites, I don't feel I'm rolled enough to comfortably play 4NL. He also pointed out that HU SnGs were by far my most profitable format (judging from my diaries).
He is completely right, I ditched them just before Brighton because at the time I was satelling into Brighton and was hoping to pay for some of my satellites through HU profit, then I had a little downswing on them (which is obviously completely normal sometimes for HU games) and thought, well I don't wanna be paying for satellites AND losing money at HU so I stopped (stupid thinking obv)
So I'm back to using HU SnGs to grind up a roll. Gonna be playing £1.05 games for now until I get my roll up, and gradually move back up the levels as my roll grows.
First session Won 5 Lost 3 Profit +£1.60
Forgot how annoying these can be sometimes, could have been 7 wins, 1 loss if not for my AKs losing to A4 and AQ losing to A9 but oh well, the players at this level are terrible so it all works out in the end
NL4 is obviously 'the' best, and probably easiest way of building a bankroll but it needs alot of time and alot of tables. Think this is the best way for you to do it.
I'm playing today so I'll be on msn. If you want me to watch a few games log into msn whenever and let me know.
Are you still fading the hypers? They're rly soft seriously.
Might play 10x £1 hypers this aft and see how I get on, just for fun like. Might post some hands up on here.
I reckon I should win 7! Challenge is on......
Any Q's on micro hu sngs, post here, my thread or clinic.
Cheers JJ, I really did forget how soft these games are! Got another mini-session in this morning, admittedly not showing as much profit as I would have liked but that's mostly down to losing a few races where I was ahead.
I won 9, and lost 8 for a 15p profit Stats Won 14 Lost 11 Profit: +£1.75
Couple of hands to try n show how soft they are....
1) Pwnd - Yeh just be careful with your jamming ranges. I mean you got equity anyway so whoe cares, and he folds tonnes, but make sure you know your opponent before you start jamming this light (keep it low varience where possible @ micros)

4) Because summat like this might happen (same game) lolz.
Thought I'd have a bash at the DTD tonight, my only cash was coming 9th in the 7:45 £100 guaranteed DS for £5.46 (so 4p down for the night). Pretty much everyone on the table (except RobbitRott) had 10BB or less, and I jammed AJ into AK... flopped the J, was loving it, turn was the K
Does anyone have any thoughts on the hand below from the above mentioned tourney. Ya think it was the best way to play it?
At this stage the blinds usually start going biserk and the average stack plummets with people refusing to shove AI so to have 32bbs at 2k/4k before you raise as in here is MASSIVE, you must have been close to chip leader.
I realise it's just 5-handed but in this spot you can get shoved on so much (or at least you should do lol) and end up being priced in when behind and do a decent chunk of your change which removes you're bullying power.
Of course OTB btn it's a lot easier and standard raise, but again you HAVE to be stack size aware and know when you raise most times you will HAVE to call so don't do it with total air, although if you know people to be uber tight air raising is profitable.
On the hand you opt for 10k which IMO is just too much, minraising at this level is 100% standard as everyone only has ~20bbs anyway, Trev has 10! lol.
Fact he flats pre would make me pretty scared tbh as you know he can't fold post flop (or at least shouldn't do) so all you beat now is like KQ/KJ which might flat.
On flop first to act shove defo best play as you have GS outs plus possible Ace out and could make him fold some overcards and kinda unlucky he has that one hand and still calls, it's like just shove pre Mr Magee !!
Good run though matey, 9th is annoying but shows you can get to those crucial stages, just need an extra slice of luck

what is robbies stack size?
everyone is so short you could jam and it wouldn't be awful, you could raise decide depending on the jammer and the amount or you could just fold. simples.
Robbie I think was the only one on more chips than me, not by too much though, think he had about 150k. Think I was about 3rd out of 15 at this point. I was happy to call a re-jam from Trev with his stack size, but I thought if I jam, I'm never gonna get called by worse, whereas the raise allows people to re-jam worse hands. Another ntoe is that I'd been blind stealing quite alot so people probably knew I was doing it fairly wide.
I love winning big pots/games against idiots like this. I sat down for this one, said my usual 'good luck', I just have to say it at the start of every game, then he says, yeah you're gonna need it, then 2nd hand of the game this happens I love these guys!

Only got a few games in this morning cos I've been busy doing other stuff, so I won 5 and lost 2 for a £2.65 profit. Felt really easy today, was playing against some truly terrible opponents. One guy must have been confused and thought we were 10-handed, he just folded the button non-stop and folded to my button raise every time (no he was not away lol) Stats Won 19 Lost 13 Profit +£4.40
