adz have a read of Dohh's guide to beating small stakes cash games and take it from there.Or alternatively you could play the likes of Scotty77, Lolufold, Lol Raise etc and they do play proper poker, good luck in whatever you choose.

Exactly, if you can shove all in with QQ and get called by A10 you can basically print money.

ill take a look at the guide and yeah iv been on the same tables as some of those guys in mtts and yeah they are good although i dont get intimidated by good players i just adapt my game iv said it before and ill say it a thousand times id rather play someone good and clever over someone bad and lucky anyday just wish i had the roll to take a shot at the higher levels.  And on the QQ v A10 etc i know people say it all the time but i must have the worst luck as mine always seem to get beat lol Just earlier in a MTT i re raised a raise and ended up all in i had KK and the other 2 had AK and A8 typically the ace come on the river lol And scotty77 2/4p i may aswell just open up a bingo table or slot machine now :) lol

think you will find adz that when you have worked it out
you can win at any level,to be honest.
the hard bit though is working out YOUR best way.
if it was dead easy, where would the challenge be?

as for rather playing someone good and clever
rather than someone bad and lucky?.....
    not to sure i would,
as luck both good and bad  tends to even itself out,
    over the long run.

think you need to stop moaning,
    sort it out
    and get on with it.....
    just saying

if you can't work out how to beat nl4, then don't even bother trying to beat the guys higher up

ADVISE JUST CHANGE UR GAME SIMPLE.

THE RESON Y PEOPLE CALL THE BIG PRE RAISES IS BECAUSE THEY "THINK IF I HIT TWO PAIR I'LL GET THIS GUYS STACK".

BUT THESE THING DON'T REALLY CHANGE @ HIGHER STAKES BUT I MUST ADMIT THAT THEY ARE
LESS CALLING PRES HIGH UP BUT IF U CAN'T BEAT THE MICROS Y MOVE UP?

MAIN THING IS MAKING SURE UR BANKROLL DEFINES UR STAKE LEVEL, AND CHANGE UR GAME

BTW NORMAL RAISE WITH LIMPERS ARE 4BB+1BB FOR EVERY LIMPER

im not moaning sorry if my post come across that way just curious as being a MTT player i keep trying to switch over to cash but everytime i do i get very bored as the games im sitting in are so bad maybe im just sitting at the wrong tables. Im not a cash player spend the 2 years iv been playing poker playing the MTTS and SNGS maybe i should just stick with them but saying that last few weeks been playing omaha and wow theres good value there but as for holdem no limit cash i best off building my roll up through MTTS SNGS etc then take a shot as i know im a ok player just fairly in disiplined and easily tilted sometimes lol

    Sir,

I disagree - I'd rather play a bad player than a good player any day of the week. Seems fairly obvious to me. If we take on Lolufold & Co, he's gonna bust us pdq.

You need a bigger 'roll to play @ higher levels? The best way to get that roll is to beat the game at the lower levels. I absolutely promise you, if you cannot beat 2p-4p, (no disgrace in itself), you will not be able to beat ANY Level.

You also referred to the players at 2p-4p as "idiots". Probably best to show them a little more respect than that, imo. They may not be the best at poker, but that does not make them "idiots". Sir Clive Sinclair, the multi-millionaire inventor, is, quite possibly, the worst poker player I have ever played - but he is not an idiot, far from it. I might even dare to suggest he is brighter than you & I.......

    NL4
don't bluff, don’t get fancy – every raise or bet should be for value
play ABC, bet/raise big - win money

NL4 players are easily exploited by playing your big hands strongly

If you can’t beat NL4 then don’t bother with other levels

As you rise through the levels it’s harder to maximize value, at NL4 it’s easy.

And yes just because someone is not good at poker (Yet), does not make them an idiot.

Change your attitude and win money

    Good luck,

True, but he did a great deal more than most realise.

He invented the first, practical, slimline hand-held calculator, (the "Sinclair Executive"), the first affordable home PC - the Sinclair Z80 - then, later, the ZX Spectrum. He also developed & patented the "A-Bike", the forerunner of foldaway bicycles. He's a Member of MENSA, too, in fact he was MENSA Chairman for 15 years or more.

We are just having a little fun here, you understand, but I do find it offensive to see people called "idiots" or whatever - it's often far worse - just because they do not excel at poker. Being a lesser skilled poker player does not make them an idiot. We all have strengths & weaknesses, & it behoves us to look in the mirror before berating others. IMO, anyway.....

Some of the best players on this site probably progressed from NL4/NL8 at some point, including myself, and at the time players probably thought some of my plays were idiotic when I first ventured onto the cash tables.

I'm not a Gliterbabe a Simuk a Beaneh or a Lolufold (to name but a few) by any stretch of the imagination, but I can guarantee you this much, if I move down to NL4/NL8 I would easily beat it and see a profit.

I solid player should be able to exploit these levels and make a profit, but in no way would I ever say anything detrimental or belittle a player/players just because I think they have a lesser poker ability than mine. After all, we all have to start somewhere in our quest to learn this complex game and one day some of those players may come back to haunt me on the tables at higher levels.

    My advice is:
Learn to beat these levels, then you are ready to move on and you will have a much better understanding of the cash game.

If the entire table is calling your 4xBB raise then try raising to 8x... if they still keep calling, 10x...

    Seriously...
