didnt really wanna post my losses but today and evening has been absolutely a laughable joke all the bad players winning with silly hands and when i get hands and get um in good im creamed no matter how strong. Ended up going on tilt and playing stupid my self in the end and winning swiched back to solid play and end up losing again, Makes ya wonder i must say lol. Down to £57.60 thats half my stack blown even when ive been playing low stakes. I mean its a 1 in 4 chance of hitting a flush right but i never hit um today but every other bugg er hit it ever time against me it was like ohhhh look i got 2 suited cards dosnt matter what they are im gonna do dazler with it.
well got ok result-ish in deepy 117 runners and got 3rd, shoved a/9 hit trip aces but player called wth pocket 10s and first card flop 10 lol spornybol 0 3 £25.74 + 14 League Points so br is now £29.41 Posted by spornybol
wd m8 n1 looks like your gonna take over me after my session today
Jesus had a flying start as well, but ffs, he was'nt very lucky in the end, QUICK, it's nearly easter--- get the thread deleted before you get crucified!!!
yea think i was trying to play way too much and expected to work through the downswing didnt think it would last all day and all night and if i played through it i might get back up. So far i have made a profit and bumped it up each day, dont like leaving the tables on a neg br was the problem. Im not playing any today and gonna chill with the missis and play some skyrim. I know i can grind it back up and it should only take me a couple of days as long as i dont have a day like yesterday.
I did break a few rules out of frustrastion for example, i played in a 1.10 open frenzy and spent 6.60, i got a place in the open last night but to be honest i shouldnt be playing games like that as thats way over my 2.5%
2nd mistake was to buy in for the £4 max twice on a cash table on 2 tables which was a loss of £16 again way over what i should be buying in for even though i know with cash tables it will cos more to make more sometimes.
The sit n goes i really am annoyed at though as this is where most of the bad beats happened i was playing from the 1.10 - 3.30 level and couldnt win a thing. Also it ruined my W/L stats on the 2.20 mainly and where i had more wiins than losses on the 1.10 level i dropped back down to it and lost 5 or 6 in a row.
1.10 1st 19 2nd 17 lost 26
2.20 1st 3 2nd 1 lost 10
3.30 1st 0 2nd 2 lost 6
DYM 30p W 6 L 555p HU W 7 L21.10 w0 L22.20 W2 L13.30 w7 L35.50 W2 L1 Thing is even though this happened and its uber frustrating i did expect it at some point maybe not as bad as i was expieriencing but to happen non the less. And the only way to get through it is to take a break for at least a day get poker out of my mind completly. I have reviewed my hands getting my self back in check and will continue with the challenge tomorrow and not make those same mistakes i did yesterday again. Its all about the getting your mind right and yesterday mine wasnt as i got to the point where i expected to lose to a bad beat and did but i still carried on playing and should of stopped.
Anyways tis just a speed bump in the road to holy glory and after ive gotten over it im gonna speed up the road at 100 miles an hour 0:)
If yesterday feels bad just wait until you get your first downswing that lasts several weeks. It will happen and it'll be a big test of your will power and ability to stick to prudent BRM. My balance peaked nearly 3 weeks ago, I've been running badly ever since and unable to win it back.

Just dont try to win it back, poor work-ethics imo.
Dont be negative and except a major downswings, take it as part of the ride. Important though to have precautions in place to deal with these inevitable mishaps.

yea been there many of times gary and know that it can last a long time i had it for about a year on here lol. But im appraching this differently to the past and as you know its not costing me a penny out of my pocket so if if it does last more than a day! so be it! not gonna think in that way whats the point. All i can do is play my best and hope the cards and my poker skill hold up and i make a profit.

totaly agree its part of poker it the horrible side but a part of it none the less and if you have been playing as long as i have it still hurts but you learn to live with it and get on with job at hand. Ive still got a lot to learn in the br disciplin but im getting there. Think positive and positive things will happen, when bad things happen pick your self back up, brush your self off and get on with it. The next time i play i expect to win and get back up to the 100 mark by the end of my month which is still my goal.

I think that is an achievable target, hope you smash it m8. Patience i think is key. Il be reading regularly GL Dazler.
Had quite a good day today after taking a break yesterday and back up a bit more. Im only a few points off getting the 500 CFP so that extra 5 quid will be a nice little bonus to my target of 100 by the end of the month. And by month i dont mean the 30th as my month started a bit late so im still on track I took a few little risks and played a couple of dym's to bump me up. And im keeping a back up plan when i do take small risks.
On an even bigger challenge one which i think is even harder than this is myself and my partner have stopped smoking. Its been 2 days now so quite proud of my self for going that long considering i smoke 20 a day or more. My other half has made it uber difficult and i thought i would be the one with the week will power but she has a couple of times said about buying a pack but i have stayed the strongest. Insteadve been scoffing a ton of chocolate eclairs, sour tube sweets, bubblegum, lollypops and tons of other sweeties so may get really rotten teeth in the process. Not only does it cost money but my sisters fiance has been told he has terminal cancer at 41 and has really made me think about health issues related to smoking and im 37 so gotta do it rather than just keep saying i will. I hope i stay the coarse on this as i have failed many times before. Anyways i have my poker to keep me occupied and stop me thinking about it even though while writing this i could do with one lol.

heres the typical days type of hands

Maybe take a day off or at least cut down on the amount of time/games that you're playing.
You've had a good run still have £60 from nothing so don't just spew it away trying to claw it back quickly.
Keep it going.
A downswing should come as no surprise after such a spectacular start. If you're sensible with your BR this will only be a minor setback.
At the start I'm sure you never would have expected to up to £57.60 after only 15 days. That's huge, you've made CF look like a fool in comparison.
(Come to think of it I suppose now we know CF actually is a fool in many ways
natural order of things )
