Saw you on Mastercash. Was a bit unlucky when making decent plays and walking into hands. Hope the points are still racking up though. 17K is a great return in 11 days. I wish I could get near that.lol. When are you back on Sky Poker 865? Best of luck tomorrow and I'll be looking forward to your next diary entry where you will have smashed through the 20K barrier and be up a few grand. Best wishes. Shaun the Villa fan in Bham

Cheers Shaun. That points total represents my entire points score for last month, it was a light month though.
865? When I win another UKOPS Main Event probably I think I TV Tart on the Mastercash tables enough as it is without you guys having to see my elongated head.
Talking of Mastercash, here is my favourite quote from last night's excellent show.

I heard that and cringed a little.lol. I think he meant it specifically for that hand. At least I hope he did.lol. I bet you owned everyone once they moved to the other table. I enjoyed you on 865 and assumed they had added you to the roster. I feel a 'Sort It Out Sky' thread being started by myself and your army of fans! Keep up the great work with the diary and keep smashing the points challenge. Best wishes. Shaun the Villa fan in Bham
Hey Tommyd, Im wondering how many tables you play at once and what kind of setup you use to play them? Posted by Spad3s
Hey Spad3s
I normally play a low number compared to most, 4-6 on Sky. Between 4-8 on another site. I'm a bit picky about being able to see all/most of the table at all times.
I'm a sofa grinder, just got a laptop and a dream. My lappy is fairly new, was grinding on one before with a broken battery so I was on AC only, can't tell you how much money that cord popping out used to cost me.
A proper set up is on the list for the new house if I get a decent win again. Fingers crossed.
Tommy, or any other opinions, You have just sat down at a casino 1/2 cash game with a table of unknowns in a major city. Do you think you can make any useful assumptions about player types or tendencies based on race/ethnicity? Posted by simonnatur
This has been an argument for a long old time. Mike Caro detailed a whole sort of stereotypes in his book back in the 70s I think.
Personally I do not make assumptions based on race/age/ethnicity/sex. The argument for doing this boils down to the old 'Stereotype for a reason' motto. I think it's dangerous to do this, just because we would get trapped into one mode of thought versus this new player and we may adjust far too late spewing far too much money/value.
For example, there is a stereotype that female poker players are really tight. You try telling that to two identical twin young ladies who play on the London circuit. One's loose, the other is crazy loose.
I much prefer to treat every new player as a blank canvas. Yes the shadow of these stereotypes are eating at the back of my mind, but in my opinion these thoughts are to be fought rather than embraced.

How many points are spurs behind Arsenal, i forget.. Own worst enemies there, gone to pot bet u cant wait to get rid of ol Harry now Posted by YOUNG_GUN
This is why I was the one Spurs fan not to get chirpy. Obviously still don't want to lose 'Arry and I still don't think he'll be offered and/or take the job.
I've been a little behind on my updating. I took a couple of days at 'easy pace' purely down to the fact I was pretty wasted mentally. The grind has ground me down a little and I needed get some air.
The DYMs are almost break even. Finally some volume of players appeared and some good games opened. From a low of 1.1k in the hole it's now two figures in the hole. Of course while my DYM game improved the cash game went to pot and i dropped a bit there I really am that man in the row boat with two holes in the base while owning just one cork.
Luckily I had a very good cash session this morning. Managed to get in the right spots against a player where very big will always be called by medium to big. The value shove swinged out the swong and we're back on track.
A little tip for everyone. Do not try to have a conversation with your estate agent when they are telling you the move date is being put back by four weeks due to a reason they should have told you months ago while trying to pull off a three street bluff with ten high.
So I got to commentate on West Ham versus Brighton today (for full details on the whys and wheres please see Tikay's Weekend plans thread in GPC). It looks like West Ham finally realised they were in the Championship today and actually acted like that for the first time at home. Six nil, ouchie for the Gulls, sorry for the many Brighton fans on the forum but it was anililation stuff.
I bumped into this fellow at half time
I obviously apologised immediately.
For those who don't know, that's Julian {Surname that doesn't get through the fiter}, nicknamed The Terminator and former player for West Ham and Liverpool. He was a left back who took penalties, when i say took penalties he sent the ball, and the keeper if he was stupid enough to get in the way of it, through the net and into the crowd behind. Really nice chap to chat to, very friendly to be honest, still loves the game and is doing some media work at the moment. However what I found both striking and a little disturbing were his piercing blue eyes, they seem to say 'we both know I can snap you in two at any moment don't we.' Sometimes you just know if a guy is seriously hard.
oh the Melin twins. so many stories.... Posted by scotty77
Haha, heard plenty. Never sure how much to believe but I've got a feeling 'most' is close. Think they play a lot at The Palm Beech which is not a place I go to. That's the kind of casino I would certainly feel like I should be serving the drinks at. Or probably taking the coats. Ok ok, I'd be selling soap in the toilets. Towel Sir?
