Afternoon TK. Really enjoyed the Primo show last night, 3rd April, you and Rich are a great double act lol.
Just a quick question for you. I have got a seat in the Irish Open on April 22nd to 25th, and since I am a Sky player for many years now, was wondering if Sky Poker would like to endorse me with sponsership , Sky tops, hat etc? Not sure what the rules are, but been watching last years on line, and many players have logos of other sites, not just Paddy Power. I will look forward to your reply, and would be willing for someone to contact me if needed.
hi tikay thanks for the comments in the primo. my ak is pronounced drum-a- hair. its a small village in Ireland were my dad was born. i use it in honour of his memory

You are welcome, & what a lovely thing to do, in memory of your Dad.
Beautiful part of Ireland, too - iirc, there is a "Dromahair" & a "Drumahaire" next door to each other, which must confuse the local Posties a bit.
Thought you played well in the PRIMO - just add a smidgeon of run good, & you could win that one week.
I have been trying to send you a PM since Sunday but don't seem to be able to. We did exchange PMs in 2010 so I don't really understand why I can't send you one now.
It's nothing urgent but not really stuff I want to put in the Forum.

I don't understand why that would be, Bryan, I get at least 5 or 6 PM's here every single day. Very odd.
I will send you a PM now with my e-Mail address on it, please use that address to e-mail me if the PM service is not working for you.
Hello, why on sky tournaments are 6 handed? why not to make them full field? community seems to be growing. this is a disadvantage in my eyes, unless i missed something thanks for reply
I couldn't find the other thread so thought I'd ask here...is the "special" table in use today? And if so roughly how long before the show would air? Days? Weeks? Longer?

Hi Danny,
Not sure what thread you are referring to, but this one is fine.
And yes, the "special" Live Cash Game Table has been in use today, & yesterday, in fact.
Filming commenced at about Noon yesterday, though Mother was here from about 7am setting it all up, & I was here (making tea...) from 7am, too. I gave best at about 9pm last night, knackered, but the filming went on until about 10.30pm I think.
It was rinse-repeat today, a 7am start for both of us, the Filming commenced at about 11am today, & it will finish at about 10pm tonight. Mother has been present for every minute of that.
Mother, Mandy & Dan have done all the Cash-Game filming work, & I've been left in charge of the Office.
Now, those 20 odd hours of film need to be edited into TV-sized "chunks", either half-hour or one hour shows I guess. After that, the commentary - I think that will be Rich Orford & myself, though I'm not 100% sure on that - has to be put on. We'll have to sit in a sound booth for a few days & gradually work through all the Shows, I assume.
When will it start hitting the screens? Not sure - I think the aim is to commence screening the Shows during May.
We are all knackered, to tell the truth, two incred long days, but happy knackered, if that makes sense.
Tomorrow, I have to be up in Leeds by Noon, & I'll be there until mid-evening, so I'll not be Online much tomorrow.
So, I'll have to swerve tonight's tikay Sleepstack & TOTTY I'm afraid, as I think I might head up north tonight to avoid the traffic.
Who played the cash game? I tthink it was intended to keep that "secret" until the Shows were transmitted, but one of the players Tweeted the line-up direct from the table! That was a Bad Beat.
Ahh, perhaps there wasn't a dedicated thread and it was just mentioned somewhere else, I thought you'd started a thread when the kit arrived.
Great news that it's in action anyway, can't wait to see the show. I trust it'll be well worth the long hours, and having seen the offending tweet I'm sure we'll see some great play. Except from the tweeter himself of course...no poker face, gives everything away.
The suits are telling us that member activity on here is increasing all the time, so therefore, I assume (rightly or wrongly) that a fair percentage of these are new to poker. With the present downturn in most peoples finances and job prospects, surely this site needs to encourage a lot more member particapation and you will only do that with good solid ideas like this. My only concern (and there is always a 'BUT just around the corner) is that I'm seeing some of the suggestions with buy-ins as much as £22 ..............admittedly these have not been implemented and are only suggestions. My point is, to retain and increase membership, imho, a closer scrutiny of buy-in pricing for lower br's is more than ever paramount. It's plainly obv. to see that freerolls and v. low buy-in tourneys attract huge numbers and the high buy-in tourney's much lower numbers, therefore, you're only going to retain membership interest if more can participate in the lower buy-in tourneys (eg; £1-£3).' Pile 'em high n pile 'em cheap' usually works in all walks of life and gives us all more choice, surely this has to be better for everyone. Regards.....Billy
As you said yourself they're merely suggestions for structures at this point, I doubt Sky are going to be scrapping all the low BI tourneys in favour of the wild and wonderful forum ideas.
Anyhow, Sky has absolutely no issues in terms of offering low BI tournaments, imo. I'm looking at the lobby right now and 12 of the 22 tourneys in the next hour are in the £1-3 range. For obvious reasons the average BI is higher during peak hours, but there are still plenty of sub £5 tournaments after 6, I don't believe you'd ever have to wait more than half an hour for one.

Thanks for your input Danny gr8ly appreciated, I had to dash off unexpectedly for a few hours as I was writing my post and didn't quite explain myself as clearly as I would have liked, so I have tweaked my post a bit since your reply. I was just a little concerned that if any of the ideas put forward by the members (and there are some cracking one's at that) are implemented,I hope that the buy-in will not deter too many of the regulars (I am learning gradually via 'chat-box' during play, that more players wish to be involved in more tourny play but it's just that it get's too expensive for them. I would prefer even more choice than we currently have, it's only natural,.......I know it's a business and they will need to run it like so.......but giving greater choice will attract greater numbers.............the rest speaks for itself........bfn -
I suppose one thing about the compo is that very few of the entries I've seen would *have* to work at the suggested BI (where people have even suggested one). A bit of a movable feast in that if an idea works well at £10 it'll most likely do OK at £1 too. I'm sure we can expect Sky to look at expanding any ideas they use to other BI levels, more choice for us, more revenue/better retention for sky, win win.

you constantly rip into low level cash game limpers, and rightly so. comparing them to 1.50 3.00 ive tried raising 4x but the *unts still call. (thats punts by the way) 8x is the only way to get it through at that level. you dont see 8x raises on higher. anyway blah blah you know what im saying.

I must correct that Sir.
I, & we, NEVER "rip into" players, but if we see them serial-limping, we repeatedly advise against it, because it's is not optimal play.
Channel 865 has a remit to Educate & Entertain, & it's very important to try to point out basic game play errors. That is very different to "ripping into them".

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "sponsorship" please?

I will send you a PM now with my e-Mail address on it, please use that address to e-mail me if the PM service is not working for you.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
thanks sw9
It was a bit of a problem briefly earlier this morning, but it's fine now. Just open a new Tab & it will work fine now.
They added some bells & whistles overnight, but a few bugles & banjos fell off in the process.
Apologies.
