A physics Forum which I particularly enjoy, with the highly original name of , "Physics Forum", says....
Darkness is a well defined physical concept it is the absense of light, duh! However, the vacuum flux guarantees their will always be some small amount of light as long as there is spacetime. Hence, what we call darkness is relative and obeys the Uncertainty Principle. This means, of course, that it's speed can be greater than that of light, especially since it carries no energy or information".
Me? I don't know, my eyes are so bad I can't see the speedometer in the dark.

Yep, exactly what I thought all along -........tell me something new !
What tickled me so much is that occassionally in life someone comes out with a profound statement that just stops everyone in their tracks and you just hit the buffers not knowing how to move on.
Talking about tracks and buffers and speed of light, if a train could travel at the speed of light would it's headlights work ? Also, how do you know when you run out of invisible ink ?

Hi Tikay..........there is a post in the 'Poker Clinic' asking for opinions on how someone should respond/react to a particular situation when one of our regular members was playing in a live game.
I don't know if this request has been covered before but in a nutshell ............is it possible that a blog that explains the rules and etiquette of live play and if poss. can it also be covered on 865. I have extremely limited knowledge of what the rulings are as I only play online but if I ever did fancy playing an Spt or the like, as daunting as it may seem, I would at least feel a bit more comfortable knowing what is and what is not acceptable....thank you.
Ps: did you like what they did with the paint job on the 'Flying Scotsman' ......and did you get an invite,....if not, they should be ashamed of themselves (all that free air-time you give them, promoting steam loco's etc.).
when i raise with A K and get called with 10 3 suited then the flop comes nothing to me and i continue bet and they go al l in what r u supposed to do Posted by zeus101

Hi zeus
It depends, what type of tourny were you playing?, what were the blinds?, what position were you?, what was the table like?, what was the flop, turn and river?
I would love someone less able than me to call with 10 3 suited, I would be a 60% favourite, but, dont forget the opponent will hit 4 times out of 10, AK is only A high, and is only a drawing hand, by all means raise with it, but also be prepared to lay it down if you get resistence, if for you own example, someone goes all in.
why is there not spt games before 9.30 Posted by tinman95
As there are only 7 seats remaining, there has to be a max 35 seat Semi Final tonight. The link to the lobby for this is below if you wish to have a go at what will probably be the last chance to qualify on line. Good luck if you do try.
In a recent game in our league the following happend:
Down to the last four from 14, bubble time. All four playing tight and no one taking chances.
We have an all in from under the gun, putting two of the three remaining all in, dealer is chip leader, he could call. Dealer is undecided and keeps looking and asking himself "what should I do!?!?"
One of the lads watching says lets have a look at your cards, dealer says no but then a few seconds later shows the spectator, the specator jests..."I'd call with that!" Dealer still takes more time to think it through, then calls, other two have folded waiting to ladder up,... dealer has KQ suited, all in UTG has A8 suited, catches the A on the flop but dealer hits straight on the river.
One disgruntled player and dealer who has 75% of the chips who then goes on to win easily.
Question: Should the hand described continued once the dealer had shown his cards to the spectator? - None of the other players saw the cards but obviously the disgruntled player felt the dealer was influenced by the comments made.

Hi _______George_____, I'll call you ____Geo____ for short.
It's just bad etiquette, rude, & disrespectful to our fellow players, to show our cards to people not involved in the game. It's also against the rules to be "coached" at the Table by outsiders, though that would be tenuous in this case.
There are no grounds, as such, to void the hand because it had been seen by a non-player, though. Personally, I'd give him a minor penalty, maybe gently shoot him or something.
Hardly something to get grumpy about though, & I doubt the "loser" would have complained if his A-8 had held! In fact, I'm sure he would not.
Some peeps don't take defeat very well, that's what it amounts to, I guess.

Thank you... it was me who showed... I apologised profusely afterwards, I was disgusted with myself....felt like **it ever since... I disqualified myself from the game the following morning and gave up my points won. At the end of the season I don't want people saying "well of course George would not have ended up in the places if it were not for that hand in May....." Thanks, __Geo__

___Geo____,
There was no need to "give up" the win, none at all, & if your opponents had any class, they'd not accept it in such circumstances.
I'd still shoot you though. Just gently, like.
