Hi Tikay, I tried to send this in private message, but my pm's won't work---- I was thinking about starting a thread for Acebarrys family. Alison seems to be worried about coping financially atm. I was wondering if there is any way we could help by making a donation towards expenses?--- Can funds be transfered from our accounts to Barrys?-- Or is there another way we could send funds to Alison? --- I don't want to start a thread to this end if it's not possible, so I thought I'd better ask first, thanks.

    Hi Tikay,

About a million questions, sorry lol

    1) I was reading a few of the really old posts near the start of the thread earlier. In one post you were asked something about Luke Schwartz and Andrew Feldman, and you said this about Luke Schwartz:

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay?:
In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? :  As to Luke - well, there's nothing to say, is there. He's just a waste of valuable oxygen, a kid with not a shred of class.

I don't know if you've met him at all when he's been on the show, but has your opinion of him changed since then?

    2) Who will be the presenter and analyst on the Super Roller show on June 3rd?

    3) Are any of the analysts not going to Vegas for the WSOP?

    Cheers,

    Good afternoon Tikay,

I just wanted to send you a quick message about potential prizes for the DYM laddering challenge.

It's even harder this time because there are now 13 levels to get through due to the addition of the £82.50 game. Although it does mean if you lose the £110 game, you still walk away with a sizeable profit thanks to the £150 won in the previous round.

We've got 82 people involved at the moment and have already had some good runs. The best so far is Petethepla who has won the level 9 game and has yet to play the level 10 game (as far as we know).

Yes Paul, I did, PLEASE don't worry, I promised you the Seat, the seat is yours.

I have a backlog of PM's over the last week or so - around 50 or 60 remain unanswered - but I'll reply to everyone of them by Friday.

I am currently on a short holiday, & I return home tonight.

Cheers Tikay. Yeah it all seems to be going swimmingly so far.

I thought you might have been having a few days away, hope you enjoyed the time away and hopefully your holiday wasn't interrupted too much by all our little questions.

Well just three, so I'll try & answer all three....

    1) I have met Luke many times before & since. I think the way Luke analyses the play of poker hands is just about as good as it gets. I can think of few who have such a grasp of the game, & can articulate those thoughts as well as he can, which is why Ch 865 took a chance & had him on the Show. He is also a supremely good player. I should add that he was VERY keen to do the Ch 865 Show. However, I will never warm to people who so readily & frequently refer to other players as "fish", "donks", & other such monikers. Why would I? So many poker players do this, & I loathe it with a passion. A little more respect seems to be in order, in my opinion. Invariably, of course, players ONLY complain about "bad calls by fish" when they LOSE a hand to them. Go figure that, because I cant, & I never will.  Luke also commentated & played on another poker show recently, one of the Matchroom gigs, & I was not impressed by his general demenour in that, either, as he appeared to be a tad "tired & distressed". For the sake of balance, I would add that we are all different, each to their own, & I'm not sure my own demeanour & personal standards would much impress Luke, either. I wish him well, but I hope that, as he matures, he will be a little more respectful & less rude to those of us poker players who are less gifted than him. As an analogy, Man City are an infinitely better team than QPR, but it would not behove them to say "QPR are useless". A little respect & decent manners costs nothing.

    2) The Presenter & Analyst on the Jubilee Weekender Sky Roller? I'll try & find out for you. I was only allocated my June Shows yesterday (June 7th, 2th & 14th), but I am currently away on holiday, so cannot access the Show Roster until I get back home.

    3) Ch 865 Analysts going to Vegas for the WSOP? To the best of my recollection, they include Redmond, Ryan, Julian, & myself. I will not be playing the WSOP Main Event, but the other three will. I'm not yet sure what plans for the WSOP Stu Rutter & Carlo have, but I imagine one or both will be there, & playing the Main Event, too.

Nope, no problem at all. I have had a lovely little break, but the weather is a little too hot for me here, & I need to be Online today, as "Coach Kendall" starts tonight. Hope you have a go at that!

I'll actually not be able to rail tonight's "Coach Kendall" freeroll as it happens, as I'll be high. High in the sky, I mean, on a 737, not via other means.....

Yeah I'll definitely be in the 'Coach Kendall', I registered yesterday as soon as I saw it, how could I pass up such a great opportunity. It's funny I was actually gonna suggest a competition virtually exactly the same as this, where the winner gets maybe a few hours coaching similar to how CoxylBoro (and many others) do, like they would watch them play 4 tables for an hour or two, then spend an hour with them talking them through any leaks etc. Seems Sky beat me to it!

I'm also in the Blackpool semi tonight for free, courtesy of an 865 competition last night, so maybe I can get to Blackpool for free, would be nice.

    Top Guy

Played in the Paris last night (by the football ground on bloomfield Rd). A £45 dbl chance . Its only a small casino and only opened this year, but is pretty classy and got 66 runners. ( Got up to 32K after the brk but when someone calls your 5x raise on 400-800 with J 2 off against my AJ and hits it was downhill from there ).

Thats 3 Casinos in Blackpool now . 0 in Preston

(and they got the big super one knocked back a cpl of years ago )

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Very sorry about that Brett, no idea what happened there, James H is normally very fastidious with such things, but I suspect some comms failure has gone off. Blame Hartigan, we all do. You say a "Live" Tourney, yes? Presumably an SPT? If it was for Cardiff - this weekend - please reply soonest, so I can have a seat reserved for you. Can you let me know exactly what you won, & I'll get it sorted for you pronto-ish. Again, apologies if we have messed up.  Rather like the name "Brett", if I may say so. Reminds me of this..... Jules - Oh , I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions. What's the matter? Oh, you were finished! Well, allow me to retort. What does Marsellus Wallace look like? Brett - What? Jules : What country are you from? Brett : What? What? Wh - ? Jules : "What" ain't no country I've ever heard of. They speak English in What? Brett : What?  Forum rules suggest its probably best if I stop there...... Please let me know what you won, & I'll sort it. What?   Posted by Tikay10

Didn't quite work out as planned tonight Tikay. I played really well in your 'Coach Kendall' chipped up well early, lost half my stack in a cooler when I got it in pre with KK v AA, but I didn't let it get me down because I still had my starting stack, chipped up well again to about 10k. Was doing well but the stacks all got a bit shallow and I lost a couple of races. Finished 121st out of the 1000 runners, so still a decent show, but would have been nice to FT for the hoody or even win it.

I also made an early exit in the Blackpool semi. I was down to about half my stack after a bad hand, then I got it in on the flop with a straight draw, and a flush draw against 1 pair and missed. Oh well, there's always next time.

i had a really aggresive player, who raised 5x or 6x bb on my bb.
obviously i had to fold each time, making a stand with rubbish didnt make sense, and could only try to
make moves as and when i could, hoping that i would at one stage catch him out.
when i eventually re-raised him all -in with AQ  he called showed KK obviously he won.
it was more frustrating losing to him, not only for him having a hand and winning, but losing to the ultra aggressor.

how is the best way to deal with an ultra aggresive player ???

    Hi Tikay,

So we've heard how you've caught the sun a little bit too much and needed medical attention. Please ....you may be looking in fine fettle after your diet but let's not try to get on the Carlo band wagon....we only need one tangerine on the show!!!

Talking of Carlo.I'm so looking forward to his poached egg eating bonanza. He'll be green in colour rather than orange! We need a picture competition with him in his chicken suit, i feel.

Your Luke Schwarz post was excellent, mate. I'm so glad you stood up to be counted. It would ruin the experience for me at a live tournament with a 'less understanding player' at the table. You should send him the Jared Tendhlar book courtesy of SKY.

Loved the Hendon Mob shows that were on. They were great and really put the enjoyable side of the game over as well as giving warnings about the life of a pro. I think balance is the key in all that we do. Go to an extreme and poblems occur.

By the way, 'Teeks' as Anna calls you, this may sound like brown nosing but have you ever considered writing a book about your life in and around poker. You'd have at least 10,000 sales from sky poker players alone, in my opinion as you're held in high esteem, i feel.

Something along the lines of Vicky Coren's would be a great way to do it as its one of my favourite books on poker long with the Big Deal which i read before i knew anything about poker. Each time you're knocked out of a tournament you could give a signed copy away a la Barry Greenstein! Get growing that beard.

Anyway, it was just a thought. Maybe, if you win the WSOP this year, you'll do it anyway, eh?

    Cheers
    Steve aka profman15

PS When you go to vegas this year go to see the Rat Pack show at ? on the strip( may be at the Rio). It's briill and the cast have had cosmetic surgery to look like Sammy Davis etc. a gret night and part of that balance i was talking about. You'd love it, i'm sure. I've got a photo with the cast if you wish to see it. All the best.
