I'm quite shocked that I've never heard of it but what on earth is billabong? lol. If they are gonna add some new games though, I'd definitely put 7 card stud top of the list, it's great game. Posted by Lambert180
I Think a billabong in Australia is the same as....
I just wanted to say thanks Tikay for looking into the 30p DYM situation. I know you must have a million and one thing to look after in your normal day-to-day without these extra bits and bobs.

A billabong is literally a watering hole - but that goes back to the 19th century - I wouldn't know about any modern meaning for it.

Hey ultimate pro... eeee sorry... I was supposed to say TK but got carried away... lol... I have sent you an e-mail and a fb message the other day. Have you seen them? George Posted by GreekWay
Yes, I will try to reply over the weekend George.
I have been inundated with "incoming" stuff this week, please bear with me. I did get all 4 of your notes via Facebook, e-mail, & of course this thread.
i was wondering if sky poker are going to add more game types to sky poker going along the lines that if the sight is growing with more players then will there be more types of games to choose from, i know theres new tournys all the time but there all holdem & omaha both great games but would sky poker ever think about something like billabong which is a great twist on the poker game? i dont know how much hassle it would be to introduce a new game to the programme or if its possible?, this is just an idea but would be interesting to hear any views on thanks in advance Posted by Grave
Good morning Grave.
I am aware of the game, which is a sort of version of "Spanish" or "Manila" Poker.
Sky Poker have an open mind on such things, & will introduce various new games in the longer term I imagine. "Priorities" mean that it is unlikely that "Billabong" will be considered any time soon, I'm afraid. Very vew Sites offer it, (actually, I don't know ANY that do, though that's not a problem in itself) & for good reason, it is very much a minority interest game I'm afraid.
Very few people would be interested, in my personal opinion, & ther worrry would be that very few would even understand it.
Away from Hold 'Em, Omaha is the next most popular variant, but I doubt 5% of the poker population play Omaha regularly. Then there is Stud, Razz, LowBall, HORSE, & so on so forth, so I'm afraid I can't see much prospect of "Billabong" in the foreseeable future, nor can I see that it has any commercial value. That does not mean it is a bad game, we all enjoy different things, but demand would be such that liquidity would be near to zero.
Is there any question on any subject that you don't know the answer too. In fact I can probably answer my own question, & subjects that you know nothing about could be written on a postage stamp ( You & I are old enough to remember how to use them).
I am sure that to a lot of people you are not only the face of , but that you are Sky Poker. I hope that people will realise that there is only a limit to your powers, and that in your unenviable position there are times that you probably cannot say how you personally feel on a certain topic.

No worries TK. Take your time.
I just wanted to know that you have received it because I haven't heard from you.

thanks for the reply much appreciated its good to hear sky will be looking at new games looking forward to that but i only mentioned billabong as a personal fav (had to try) but i understand why it wont make it but the good news is sky is interested in bringing new games and that in itself would be a fantastic result thanks again tikay
I am sure the answer to my question maybe on the site somewhere so appolgies if I have missed it.
I notice the sky poker team at the end of each quarter has been removed, I wonderd what was the reason for this and if there any plans to replace this.
Could I also suggest that sky look at rewarding the players who do come top of each repective league if this has been removed as I know myself I have taken pride at being top of the MTT but would also be nice to get some reward for this at the end of the month or quarter.

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : WHEN I GO ALLIN IVE HIT THE SET I DO LOOK FOR FLUSHES Posted by innit
You're question is massively broad, there is no 'one fits all' answer to your question.
Sometimes you will shove with pairs and it's the right decision for your opponent to call and you lose and it's just unlucky.
Sometimes you'll shove pairs and someone makes a terrible call and still wins, and that's also unlucky but at least you can have some comfort that you want bad calls like this.
But it's all down to what type of game you're playing, what the stack sizes are like, how aggressive/tight your opponents are, how aggressive/tight your opponents think you are.
Remember, the definition of a bad beat, is getting it in ahead and getting unlucky, if you keep getting it in ahead, you can't go far wrong. And remember, the better you are, the more bad beats you will get, because you'll be getting it in ahead more often. Bad players don't take as many bad beats because when you get it in behind, you only have yourself to blame for losing.
How do you deal with people who are clearly working together and passing chips to each other? It happens quite often in the Double Your Money Sit And Go Games. Posted by liverscum
the answer to that one is to report any concerns you have to Customer Care, there details can be found at the bottom of the page under Contact Us, give them as many details as possible, eg: tourny ID date, time that sort of thing.
hello mr tikay im sure you have been asked this lots so sorry to ask again but when can we expect auto top up there seem to be so many other good things happening at sky and it just makes me wonder if auto top up is a difficult thing to implement?

Hi Mr Russ.
Yes, the short answer is that it is on the list, & it IS quite difficult to implement.
The slightly longer, but better answer, is that we ALL want EVERYTHING - that's the Clients, and the Business, as soon as possible.
As I Posted a while back, a completely new Site is being built - completely new, from the ground up, & whilst it will have to keep updating, changing, & evolving, it will pretty much be what we all - or most of us (can't ever please everyone!) wants.
So right now - NOW now - there is a balancing act between allocating resource towards improving the EXISTING site, & progressing the design & construction of the new site as quickly & efficiently as possible.
Hopefully, loyal Clients like you will understand that growing together is quite something, & be understanding if some of the bells & whistles we would wish are not available as soon as we would like.
Through all this, year on year, the traffic continues to grow, & that business needs managing, too.
Balancing all these things is enormously challenging, & if I may say so, tremendous fun, all the more so because we think that most of you are sharing it with us.
