Hi Tikay. Can you please tell me how to get info on venues and dates for the tour. Is it how i think it is that you can meet people that you play against as well as presenters and play a live tournament. Could i bring a couple of mates with me who only play live and have no sky account. Whats it like. Thanks Very!

Hi bcool, I think it will probably be Friday as the closing date for registration is this coming Thursday.

Had a look here, couldnt find prices...
How much is it to enter these tours? Do you just turn up on the day and enter or have to be done before hand?
Im guessing there are satalites too, when would these be playing?, for say, Luton 6th March.

    nice one.

Hi TK  I have decided to respond now to Sky Rich's  hob nail boot attack on the Lauren thread and to say he could have solved the problem more diplomatically with a PM message to Stoxy and not spoil Laurens thread with Sky Rules .  You dont have to have PHD in child psychology to work out that is was stoxy talking and not Lauren. I hope Rich will leave her thread alone now and let her and it recover. Sorry if I am emotional about this but as a mother I know how parents feel when their children are ill. Lauren has had major surgery and for a nine year old that is serious. They knew this and yet still posted on her thread.  He has made his point and kept Sky legally correct with their rules. Well done Sky but not from me. Annie x

    Hi Tramps.

I think you are saying that you reach the sharp end of Tourneys with plenty of chips (relative to the Blinds) but then you donk off, or, in the (quite dreadful) modern terminology, "spew".

If only I had this problem - I tend to motor with a micro-stack! But each to their own, & it serves me well.

    It's just about having "gears".

If you are deep in the Tourney, & in a commanding position, you have 2 choices really.

    1) Keep your foot hard to the floor & try to bludgeon your way to the win in a sort of Desperate Dan mode.

    2) Be a little more subtle, & pretty much sit out, & let the others, particularly the shorties, do the work for you.

I have encountered an amazing amount of extremely gifted players, with talent to spare, & a game to die for, who regularly made the last 2 Tables with a mountain of chips, & then donked off. And they just needed a tinsy bit of fettling, just to back-off a little until it really matters.

There's a rather peculiar but extremely gifted brand of super-heroes in poker who are lauded for "going for the win", but you can skin that cat lots of ways. Try sitting-out for a while, until there are 3 or 4 players left. Then suddenly open out with a bang, & get mega-aggro. You've nicked 4 Pots before they realised you've woken up, & now you have the psychological momentum & edge.

I hope lJAMESl comments on this too, because he used to be a spewer, but now he's found his gears, & it's working splendidly - he cashed for £50k+ recently in a GUKPT. And £50k is serious money.

You've got me scratching my head there a bit......

I don't recall saying it, but I assume I was referring to the photographs which Col, aka Mr Mbro, gave me at the Manchester SPT.

They were two beautiful black & white photographs of steam locomotives in the 50's.

We must have done a dozen or more SPUKT's, SPT's, Boot Camps & such like, & at every one that Mr Mbro has attended, he's bought a gift for one or more of the Staff. Which is really rather nice, I think.

    Talking of gifts......

As you know, young Lauren has had a tough time lately, & the Community have been quite magnificent in helping to make her life more bearable.

At Newcastle, one of our players gave me £20 towards a gift for Lauren. And another regular Forum contributor & Sky Poker regular, whom you all know, has pledged £100, & asked for my Bank Details yesterday to tx the money across.

The money has been put to good use, more details when appropriate.

Southern? The Southern Railway? Pfft. They were proper steam locomotives!

I'm a GWR man myself. God's Wonderful Railway, as we prefer to call it. History, Heritage, Class, Brunel, Paddington, Bristol Temple Meads, Swindon Works, The Box Tunnel, Daniel Gooch, Menai Bridge, Maidenhead Bridge, AWS, Sonning Cutting, OOC (Shed Code 81a).
