How's that for swift responses? - the question was posed at 12.56, & there were three replies, at 1.03, 1.03 again, &, sigh, I was slowest at 1.05! I'll pick up the other questions in the morning. Posted by tikay1
Tikay don't you think that as the site grows (such as when you introduce software) and more and more players join, skypoker will lose that community feeling and spirit that is unique about this site?

To a degree, Lewis, yes, it's inevitable. All Forums have a "growth pattern", too, & once they get past a certain size, it's not quite so easy to "feel the warmth" as much.
But so far, other than the inevitable few idiots - & you see them on here, regularly - it's pretty good, & that's despite the fact that Sky Poker is growing at an incredible rate, with - literally - record numbers on the Site recently.
Sky Poker also do quite a few unusual things, to keep the "feel" just so. TKO is great case in point - it costs £4,000 a throw, but the warmth it generated was priceless, so they have repeated it. They did some "SnowBall" Freerolls last week, too, they got massive numbers, because everyone was stuck at home. I don't recall many other Sites being that quick off the blocks. Then there's PTP, & the TV Channel, & whether some agree or not, the care that they show to players wishes, feedback & feelings is unique. When we go to Vegas, the players get looked after - proper looked after, unlike most sites. We don't do "Players Lounge", we do better. And there's SPT. And this, & that, &, most especially, the other.....
This Forum is another plus, & although the Moaning Minnies try to spread their negativity, it costs money to run, & I think the Players appreciate it.
I agree with you up to a point, but I think the Community Spirit here is a bit special & I think the spirit will be here for a goodly while yet.
Also, remember that only a small percentage of players on the site - a single digit % I would guess - use the Forum at all.
I for one also appreciate the time, care and attention from the suits for the freerolls, the way they listen to the players and act on what we ask them (Sky Des, Rich, Dave and Bernie (If I missed anyone appologies, you know you are great anyway), the way the presenters and analysts deal with us rowdy lot, and interact with great effect either, by answering questions, (even when multi tabling, tikay;)) or just having a laugh (Rich Orford, Lisa-Marie, tikay, Trevor, er Ed (Just in case if you know what I mean lol) to name but a few, I bet there is no other poker site out there who are so helpful and so quick to help and yes this also does include the whole forum cos anyone is willing to help anyone, what more needs to be said?
P.S. tikay, are you doing a live one tonight, if you are good luck and could you tell us how you went pretty please?

Hi dan
As for live, Im afraid I cannot tell you, tikay, or someone will answer that I am sure, as for on Sky Poker, abuse is not allowed on the tables, if you witness any abuse, or if someone is abusing you, please contact Customer Care, contact details are at the bottom of the page, you need the players alias, what table they are or were on and the time it helps speed thiings up.

Hi Richard
It depends on what position you were on the table (How many players before and after you to act, position is paramount), were any of them lose or tight?, how far into the game were you?, you have to ask yourself, what is beating you?, the answer is any pair AA right down to 22, any Ace Ak to A2, KQ, KJ, KT, that is 28 hands better than yours, suddenly it does not look so big , dont call with it, use position and raise with it by all means, but listen to the answer you get from the other players by whether they call, or raise because if they do the alarm bells should ring for you, fold it, hope this makes sense
The Place to come and Ask tikay (our resident Sky Poker TV presenter) any questions you may have. no question is too big or too small and tikay will always be happy to help. so... ask away!... (edit by sky_rich) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Besides being a potential new section on the forum,i would like to know if you descretly or otherwise answered lady fingers post about dead money at the gutshot to liven up tournaments or cash games? I know all is fair in love and poker but if someone gives you such a bad beat shouldn't they at least say 'unlucky' or something. I know if I go in with the worse hand (dominated i.e. under pair to a bigger pair) and I flop a set then I always say unlucky at the end (not that it happens very often because rather like you Tikay I only play KK and AA)
I was just wondering, do sky poker sponsorship players? i.e so u wear their apparel at live tournaments, or how does it all work in the world of poker? (etc)

If you are on about TKO II, unfortunately registration closed last Thursday.

Perhaps I'm just too nice.
