Well done BUFC, 435.3% is leading the way. Could still be beat though- a couple of tournaments left to play. For how to work out the ROI see my post on the previous page of this thread or see the opening post of the whole thread to see where you went wrong. Posted by RICHORFORD
In Response to Re: THE ORFORD TIMED TOURNEY CHALLENGE- LIVE RIGHT NOW TILL MIDNIGHT: Win a seat into tomorrow night's main event : What time does it finish or run up till Rich? Posted by MP33
Midnight, Paul. Unlucky on just missing out by a few percent this week!
Sorry to be a real pain Rich, could i play on another night? I play 5 a side on a Thursday night. Would Monday be ok (if its a £33)? Thanks. Posted by BUFC
I'll ask the powers-that-be at head office.
If you're not in tomorrow night's tourney, you'll be in Mondays.
.... I'm probably going to write a blog on timed tournies soon.
... If anyone else has any tips I'd love to hear them, and I will probably publish them in my next blog, coming over the next week or so

Hi Rich
Did this blog go up yet? It'll make interesting reading.
I can't think of any particlar tips other than:
i) ignore your place in the standings; it makes no difference to the payout. All that matters is the size o your stack relative to the other players on your own table.
ii) while it is always possibe to check your payout by looing at the lobby, it usually it isnt necessary (so long as the guarantee has been met).
At any given moment, the value of the payout will be:
15 mins - (Chip Stack)/1000 x (Buy in not including Fee)
30 mins - (Chip Stack)/2000 x (Buy in not including Fee)
60 mins - (Chip Stack)/25
So for a £5.50 tourney, (Buy in not including Fee) = £5.00, of course.
The reason that knowing this is useful is not just to save the time of checking the lobby. The lobby only tells you your current payout. But it is useful, especially on the last blind level, to know how your payout will be affected if you put some more chips in, but then have to fold afterwards, or if you put your opponent allin and he calls, and so on.
Cheers for the entry Rich. Just gone in 51st in the BH tonight. Not going to go into stories but two key hands for me with all the money in pre flop. KK beaten by KQs (called for 70% of his stack) and 1010 beaten by A4 (called for 50% of his stack). Managed to take one bounty so not left empty handed but felt there was so much more there really! Thanks a lot though.

Thanks Padzz for that. I'm sure they'll be plenty of regular visitors to this thread who will appreciate your advice.
I did write a blog on timed tournies in the end, you can read it here.

Ah, thanks for the update mate and that's frustrating to lose two key pots with best hand going in. Particularly KK by KQ, that's really tough.
Glad you got some cash back though, even if it was just a little.
Hope to see you give this challenge a go again this evening (Wednesday 19th).
Usual rules apply- see opening post for details. Anyone can enter a score and I'll even work out your ROI for you. So all you need to do is carry on playing timed tournaments as you would tonight and then tell me on this thread if you cash in one.

You must have done it as 23.94 / 5 x 100. That would be 478.8%
Sorry I couldn't make it tonight Rich - hopefully back to normality next week.
Paul
I usually only last 3mins, but thats another story
See you all there.
