If it ain't broke dont fix it! If you're winning at your current level. Why change? The downside of starting in the level you've chosen is the calibre of player you meet will be on the whole much higher. Like premiership football you will be difficult to read at first but the more you play the more your opponents learn. At some point you will take a beating because the players you face are well respected and have a great deal more insight into the game than most. Enjoy and adapt your game as you have done in your first seven weeks and you'll be hooked. So far as how long you've been playing poker. Who gives a hoot? you've either got a winning or a losing game the only person who should worry about your bankroll/ability is yourself! There are many great posters on the forum Evil Pingu writes some great posts but there are others including myself who think they know more about poker than they actually do! I would recommend D'oh, Evil Pingu, Penguin 07 and Archangels posts as being well worth reading as they are easy to read but more importantly sensible and easy to relate to and in D'ohs case almost always humerous. Good luck and keep on winning!

Thanks for the post mate and its a good point you make about players getting used to the way i play aswell.

Ive made a load of mistakes since first starting but in the main i am pretty happy with my experiance so far the only downside being the players in chat cursing and swearing over minor things what happen on a daily basis but the chat can easy be turned off so no worries there.

I even got called a nit today ( which i took as a compliment ) and the ironic thing was it came from one of the regs on site who might aswell be playing with his cards face up because he never bets strong without a hand.

The hand in question. he limped and i make it £2.50 with 88 and he calls. flop is j 8 6 and he leads into me.
I put him on one hand at this point which was 66 because i know he wont call raise with any 2 pair combo or straight combo and he wont limp pre with jj and i have never seen him lead in this way before so i know he is hoping i have a big pocket pair and wont fold.

I raised him on flop because i felt so certain of this and was reraised which confirmed my thoughts then it went to showdown and he shows 66 :)

Wish all the regs were so easy to read as that but it all takes time i suppose.

As far as reading the above posts you suggested i already have read most of them and also look in on lamberts journy through cash thread.

I look in on the poker clinic aswell all the time and have also looked at alot of older posts on there.

I know its gonna take along time to be good at the game and in all honesty i dont know if i will get bored with it in time but until then i will keep reading, posting and trying :)

    Good luck

    Daz.

4bb/100 is more than fine and in games of today it is pretty good...7bb/100 is pretty much crushing.

    Hi mate

When you say 4bb per 100 does that mean at a 50p/£1 table it is good if your making £4 every 100 hands you play ?

Dosnt sound alot saying it that way thats all :)

Well I first started playing when I was about 14-15, me and a few mates would all chuck a quid in, and do a winner takes all SnG. This was around the time we all started watching Late Night Poker on channel 4. I've played and beat 4NL and 8NL.

At the moment with cash I'm only playing 10NL, so if I'm on mastercash it will always be 10NL and so that's why you probably haven't played me lol. I played 5-6 tables when I play cash.

If I'm not playing cash, then I'll probably be playing HU Hypers, been playing the £5 games recently.

    Hi Arazi and Pipunch

Glad u liked the posts. we're all hereon the forum because we love the game of poker(yes, ...and hate the game sometimes no doubt) and the intrigue in trying to beat it. If we weren't on the forum we'd not be interested as much or willing to help each other with plays etc.
Its a symbiotic relationship as we both gain from the experience and i for one am certainly enjoying it As long as we debate in a courteous yet honest and forthright way then nothing but good can come from this interaction. I'm looking forward to one day playing across the table from players i 'talk' to on here and have recieved advice from.
Thanks for your thread Arazi. i totally believe you. What suits one for how to play BR etc does not necessarily work for others. If you don't played scared for he stakes you play then, that's good isn't it. I did when i played but recognising that is a plus in my opinion........cheers....see you on mastercash!!!(..in about 15 months!)
    All the best...

I agree with Profman, many "regs" will sit on hu tables and wait all night for a fish.
