Are all the mains going up to £33... I didn't realise.

If what you say is true, then it is a shame yes. I know alot of people want bigger MTTs because there's nothing much inbetween a £10 BI and a £110 BI but I don't think these should come at the cost of the mains.

love how the old "drive lower stakes players away" line comes out everytime. Have they put the price of the mini main up too?

You realise that even @ £22, this is the most expensive daily MTT on the site?

    --------------------------------------

It's the turbo/donkey/fish players that are losing out, where has the Thews @ 10, the 500gtd velocity and the 250 gtd velocity gone?

Didnt know they were going up without pot increase does feel like using there reg players who are here still playing during summer as a poor decision.

Of course in the BH it does offer some extra bounty value but not enough.

I totally understand from a business point of view they need to reach the gtn but doing this could drive the numbers down so therefore defeating the object.

I totally agree bring back the Velocity as it did used to a few years ago was what got a lot of us from new players to sky reg but that needs to have a decent gtn like it used to.

Hope someone has another look at this and look at different options to get the gtn from rebuys unlimted to thews at 10 rebuy format. Personally more rebuy and freezout tornys will attract more players

Best to judge guarantees once we reach the autumn.
Inevitable that numbers will drop in the summer, therefore follows that guarantees will be lower.

As for increasing the cost of the buyin, personally I'm ok with it, but understand that it could start to exclude players who have been thus far, loyally playing the main each night.
I guess the answer lies in the numbers - if, on average, entries decline, Sky will have to have to look at whether £33 vs £22 is the reason.

I'm ok with £33 too, but understand that the increase may deter a few.  Of course it is the rake that matters to Sky, and an increase from £2 per player to £3 per player.  Therefore if the numbers fall from 300 (300@£2 = £600) to 200 (200@£3 = £600) during the summer they maintain their turnover, and increase when the numbers go back up after the olympic and holiday period.

For those asking about why the GTD prizepool didn't go up, it did, although not directly in line with the buy-in increase. I imagine - as do those on the numbers side of our business - that the guarantee will increase in the future. For now it's a case of being gently as it goes, but they're certainly aiming to get five-figure prizepools guaranteed within a couple of months.

We're are still offering satellites into the mains, and the tournaments affected are only the Tuesday and Wednesday main events.

a good point solack but any business can see if your are obtaining say £600 no matter what from a main event then the way to go would be 300@£2=£600 (the cast your net wide option ) as a percentage of the EXTRA 100 players will stay on the site and play addional games generating EXTRA income.
i belive in the main most people are recreational players and a 50% increase in a time when a lot of peoples disposable income is falling can not be good long term. i know i didnt load skypoker up untill 9pm last night as there was a better option (for me) elsewhere at 8pm.

Almost all the ones below £33 at my local are rebuys. Even the ones around that have re-entry.
