I have reached the age where I wear trousers with elasticated waistbands, "one size fits all", but it don't work in Poker I'm afraid, & glory be too, each to their own is the greatest thing ever.
It seems that two or three issues are being lumped together which confuses each issue.
Personally, I think the guarantee is a red herring to the question of "why have Tuesday & Wednesday's Main Events gone up without any notification?" The guarantees are nice but I decide on whether I play the main event based on the price and availability to play. Any overlay is a bonus but we all know that guarantees go down if there is overlay.
I accept that there may be a demand for higher buyin tournaments. Easy to find out. Run a few without guarantees. That will test demand. There used to be regular £100 Rollers but there are less frequent now.
I do think the community side of sky is great etc etc etc But i don't understand where this ethos of 'poker should be accessible to all'.. I mean that is just ludacris (i'm not sure if that's the correct spelling, but that's how the rapper spells it). Poker is cut throat, you play to take other peoples money and pay a cut to the platform that gives you the privelige. If you can't afford the main event, unlucky. You either have to find the money from life, or get better at poker. Sky offers plenty for al bankrolls and nobody has an entitlement to play in any poker tournaments. If sky persistently fails to offer a lower stakes player what they want then they can ultimately leave, but across the board sky looks after the small bankrolls. There are alot more considerations for a site when looking at tourney schedules and as such not everyone can be happy all the time. Posted by pr1nnyraid

I really like the £1m house at the end of our road but I can't afford it. Do I go crying to the estate agents demanding that I should be able to have it?
When I first started I didn't even consider playing the main events, not only because I wasn't good enough, but because I couldn't afford it. I've put years into playing and improving my game, now I enter these tournies without battering an eyelid. You just need to knuckle down, improve your game and your bankroll and you will be able to play them. Don't expect to pick up a golf club for the 1st time on Monday and expect to be in the ryder cup team by Sunday!
