    Hi fella
    I hope you realise that the real reason for this person writing his post was to sleight another member of the forum. Personally, i feel its also taking a pop at the general population of the forum too. You can read about the real reasons in my post i wrote yesterday which is on the previous page. Cheers....

    In Response to None of us have jobs? : THE REAL REASON I was hoping that this post would die a death but as it has resurfaced on to page one, i see no reason why i should let people in the forum have my opinion as to why thiswas presented initially. I find this to be a thinly disguised attack on a particular member of the forum who had a 'discussion' shall we say we this person's fiance the day before on the site about multi-accounting. He was using her id to post messages. This person is not showing interest in the forum....died is attacking one of its members by intimating that their frequent attendance and contribution means that they must be a layabout good for nothing. I find this rather distasteful and feel that you should have taken it up with the person involved privately. This is not a place to settle scores, IMO. As for jobs...i am not a layabout. I have retired after a mathematics degree and twenty odd years teaching the subject to students who went on to places like Edinburgh to do 'horticulture and stuff'. I had to retire as a family tragedy occurred which upset my epilepsy. I did not choose to leave work...it told me. Life goes on and we should look for new peaks to conquer. For me, poker is an accessible form of entertainment for me to try to improve at. I wish you well with your career but to have some of the opinions you've voiced on your thread when you've hardly dipped your toes into the working world is a little, how can we put it, OTT. Please come back in ten years and tell us how its all gone for you, smoothly i hope but you must see that life can be a bumpy ride at times. I agree there are people who need to do more with their lives but just because they take an interest and spend time on hear does not mean that they have fulfilling worthwhile lives.  TommyD, for example, is a teacher and very successful player who does charity work for hospital radio etc. He's on here a lot, writes an interesting diary but has a real world life too. I could see you were angry in your post because i knew what had gone before but this wasn't the way to go. I wish you a lot of success in the future and a happy marriage. I only decided to comment as its come back into the forefront and feel that people should know the truth. TBH, i guess some did have an idea that it was a bit of a put down by some of the answers i read. Well now you know guys.

    Profman ive just read your explanation of why died posted the ridiculous and ivasive question of have we not got jobs, well your probably aware i was the first person to challenge him on this well to be fair it wasn't a challenge it was an outburst because i believehim to be a nasty vindictive little oik who being a student has no idea about work, life, or even what he's talking about, i couldn't get my head around other people feeling like they had to divulge there jobs or reasons why they may not be working, i think this "student" died has a **** of a lot to learn.

    Great Post Steve, summed it all up very well. I think bitterness is one of the most unbecoming personality traits someone can have, but oh well, you live and learn and grow (hopefully).

    <snip>

    I am going to close this thread; I think it has gone far enough.

    If you really are interested in what each other's occupation is/was, feel free to open up another thread for discussion around that matter and that matter only.

    Thanks,
    Sam.
