In Response to Re: Ramblings of an old man:
Funny old game! I had my first overall losing month in January since I began on Sky in  November 2011. It's been a bit rubbish for the last 3 months but with rakeback, the Christmas promotions and a live bink, I somehow made a small profit for November and December.  No such luck last month. First little downswing I've had playing dyms on here. A 500 game losing run. I've definitely not run well but there has to be more to it than that. I went through stacks of exit hands the other day and noticed a couple of really big leaks that had crept into my bubble play. It's early days but I've won 16/19 since then. Yesterday evening, the boy was fast asleep by 6.00 after going on a huge hike in his new shoes (well, to the end of the garden and back) so I settled down to play for a few hours. An hour later and I was £185 up. I know that's when I should be carrying on but with how it's gone recently I waa happy to 'book the win' and read me book instead.  Hopefully I've turned the corner. I had a huge bit of luck in the roller sat. It folded to me in the sb and the bb was locked. I was playing 10bigs and shoved. I was a little surprised when he snapped with Ace 6. I showed a bit of the old getthereability and that was me locked. He bust a couple of hands later. How people play sats on here is interesting. As is typical, once I was locked I saw hamd after hand.Passed them all and took the cash when the bubble burst.  For the freerolls I need 8k points this month. Will be looking to get into them but won't push too hard. .... Great result for the mighty rams. Joint top with Bournemouth again. Big game at their place nezt week. If Vespa can get me a ticket in the home end I promise that I'll be good :) .... Edit: just remembered that I won a mini ukops at the very beginning of November and so that actually a £1300+ month. Dym bad run started straight after that.

Oh how fun it must be to support a club with stability and some sort of medium to long term plan...

Good to hear the pokerz are turning around for you, hope it continues!

    Waaah Waaah
Cheers Harry. Think he's gone back off now but that's me up for the day :)

Played a bit last night. Bad start and then pretty much got out of it. £15 down but a tenners worth of points. It's all about the points :)
Touch annoyed as all my losses came at cash. Overall winner at Dyms. Should be just sticking to them this month.
    ...
Signed Tom Ince and Jesse Lingaard. Don't know much about Lingaard.  Any good? I know Ince did well at Blackpool but he seems to have lost his way a bit since then. The wally with the brolly is pretty good at getting the best out of players though so he might be decent for us.
    ...
Playing golf this afternoon. Why? It's ridiculously cold.
    ...
Cheers btw Vespa. We sold out a while ago. I'm not overly optimistic about the game  I await your post next Wednesday morning :)

In Response to Ramblings of an old man:
I didn't think i was old but i must be. I was watching a match the other day and a player my age was descibed as being a veteran. The same night i went to Dtd and after winning a pot it was explained by the loser in the hand that i had called because i was old and didn't understand poker. It's coming up to year now since i started playing on Sky and i have read the forums with interest and contributed occasionally. I mainly play Dym's ranging mostly from £3 to £10 games. I have done reasonably well but am playing terribly at the moment Unlike many of the players here i begun playing poker as a live player. It was a pretty grotty casino and it was difficult to see your cards through the fog of smoke. However, i loved it! Everyone there seemed to have a nickname. There was 'bag of b******s' 'the terminator' and the wonderfully imaginative 'barn owl', surname Barnett. I met Tikay at the bar there one night and after complimenting him on his rather colourful wardrobe when presenting Poker Night Live he bought me a drink. I remember thinking what a nice guy and it surprised me to hear on another forum that he receives an amount of unpleasant mail. Guessing they've never met the man. I really enjoy playing online but there is still a thrill in going to play live. The variety of people you meet from different walks of life means you should never get bored. On one side of you may be a doctor, on the other maybe a guy who it's probably best you don't kmow what they do for a living. Something i find interesting is that plenty of players dismiss Dym's as not real poker and boring. I disagree. Multitabling them means you, hopefully, get to 'win' a tournament on a fairly regular basis and what's not tolike about a tourney ending and then your account being credited? Today has been a good day! My wife has MS we have been to see her consultant. No futher advancement in her condition. She has relapsing remitting MS and we are always anxious when we go that she hasn't moved on to secondary progressive MS which is where deteriation in her condition moves with much greater speed. Very proud of her. She still works in a very responsible job and although sometimes she can come home have tea and then go to bed till the following morning she takes very little time off and remains very positive. She does just about everything that she used to do before being diagnosed, just at a slightly slower pace. As you can probably tell i am very proud but for any golfers who are maybe reading this and considering marriage i must warn you that i was a 5handicapper when we met, now up to 9. If i get to double figures divorce will certainly be on the cards! More ramblings to follow

    Thanks Daisy
    ...
    Sod off Froggy
    ...
Poker was rubbish. Lost about £150. Monster points though :)
    ...
There's something i'm  a bit sad about. There's a reg who I used to get on well with. Facebook friends and all that. He used to post on here as well. Ypu might know him. He sometimes starts diaries on here about how he's the best Dym player on the site.

Pretty much all the regs get on very well. We all understand variance and play hard against each other but at the same time hope each other do well.

This reg is different. He's a very good player. He is taking delight at me struggling. A while ago before my downswing he'd constantly make comments like i'm deluded if I think I can maintain my roi. I said that with a 9k sample I was reasonably confident. Non stop he would go on about my stats. If they dropped a little then he was quick to comment.

He was playing tonight. Seemed a very happy man. "How's the downswing going Jac?" "Your play makes me lol Jac"
I stil have no idea what I did to upset him in the first place.
I shouldn't let these things bother me but I do. I think it's because I don't understand it. i'm not someone who gets any joy if someone else is having a tough time
Still, even after the big downswing my roi is comfortably better than his! :)

He obvs doesn't want you at the tables.  Ignore it.  I play on classic mini view where you can't view the chat.  Sometimes I open up the chat box at the end of the session to see what has been said.  The amout of abuse I get is laughable.  By which time I have stopped playing and I don't care.  Try and think about it logically....do these people abuse the less experienced players?

I'm pleased your turning it around Paul.  The best think you can do v this player is play your very best.

    Run well!

Hope to see you at UKPC mini? Or Newcastle in March?
    ...
Btw I might have as many points as you at this stage this month :)
Think there's a decent chance that you'll be ahead by end of month though ;)

I dunno Pat at all but that kind of sounds like a way of trying to get an edge on someone a bit better than you, sort of like the di-ckish stuff people like Tony G try to throw people off their game. Quick mute of player in order if it is causing a few mis-steps as a result?

I suppose in a weird sort of a way it's a compliment that you get targeted in that way!

And lol at the domestic between H and Sam taking over the thread :)
