    Nice post Paul
    Especialy this.........

"We should have a bit of balance though. I've looked through the forum and for some reason I can't find the threads that say what an amazing promotion they have put on this month. They've clearly tried very hard to find a way that will give everyone a chance".

    Oh and before i forget...
We are top of the league :-))

    Have a good Xmas

I was really disappointed to see last night that one of our team left us and slung a bit of mud as he departed. I shared my thoughts on the departure last night and don't think that I need to elaborate further.

The Outlaws were accused of a number of things and I think a little balance is required. Before you come to the conclusion that we're all a bad lot, i'd ask that you consider a few things.

If  you're a member of a Facebook/Skype group can everyone honestly say that they've not ranted on occasion about something that has happened at the table?

Yes, we do swear. It's not something to be proud of but I imagine that most adults do swear on occasion.

Comments were made about Tash actively encouraging the team to abuse people. Absolutley ridiculous. Tash does a great job as Captain and is a lovely person. She doesn't rule the team with a huge ego and want to tell everyone who's boss all the time and so she doesn't tell people off. This is good, as we're grown ups and are just part of a poker team.

One of the team got a chatban yesterday. His crime? He had a bit of banter with a friend. I accept that if it offended others at the table then they have the right to complain. Personally, having seen what was said, i'm very surprised that someone judged it to be worthy of a complaint. Tikay mentioned a while ago that after a plo8 game, where we'd exchanged some banter and i'd pretended to be hurt by his comments, that another player followed him around the tables saying how rude he'd been. Tikay hasn't got a bad bone in his body and we were having a bit of banter. it just shows that people can get the wrong idea sometimes.

There seems to be a perception amongst some people on here that we're all out to cause trouble. Don't really get it!

Lets have a look at the members of the team who post on the forum on a regular basis.

Jordz16 - New boy to us. I don't know him yet  but the first thing that he did when joining the team was to say that any
money he won in the DTD's that week, he'd donate to charity. He'll do for me. (Non league at swearing)

Shakinaces - I doubt very much that he has ever upset anybody on here.keeps a great diary and has a lovey wry sense of humour. (Swearing wise, as with his team, very much 2nd division standard)

Enut - I don't know Paul well but to me he comes across excellently on the forum offering good advice to people and has a lovely light hearted manner. (Lower/mid table Premier League at swearing)

Samantha25 - The old frog is as mad as a box of frogs. She has a gob and does do swearing. She's also extremely good fun and I doubt that many who have met her at Spts etc will have a bad word to say about her. (Regular Premier league winner for swearing)

Hhyftrftdr - The one that causes all the trouble. BB&V aside, and the conspiracy nutters are fair game in my book, if you look closely he rarely is the one to start any of the arguments. Don't get me wrong, he's no shrinking violet and will go back twice as hard if he thinks that he's been wronged but that's fine in my book. He's opinionated and is funny. A lot of people don't get his humour but he's a good bloke. I think that it gets missed that he is often there helping people and gives good advice in the clinic etc. Off the top of my head he gave a wealth of information to TeddyBloat the other day. Look back and you'll find plenty more examples of this kind of thing. (Swearing wise Barcelona/1989 Milan and Brian Cloughs Derby team all rolled in to one)

We only have 19 members and I've named 6 of them in this post. There's also me (ok, fair enough on that one)
I don't think we're all bad people. Contrary to belief there are no agendas with the team other than to have fun and enjoy our poker.

Very well said Paul. Who knew you could be so eloquent with the English language?

It's undoubtedly a fun team, but like everything in life, it wouldn't suit everyones tastes. Thankfully, it suits me down to the ground ;)

Jac, you left out Beeshoney, who is possibly my favourite Sky person after Rainman.

He has never been north of Watford, and is probably surprised that, up north, we allow people like Samantha25 out on her own. And his alias is nothing to do with the Billie Piper classic, Honey To The Bee. Surprising, I know.

Apparently it's 'rhyming slang' for money. Why can't people just call a spade, a spade?

    Happy New Year Paul.

I've only just caught up with your posts and agree 100% with your assessment of the Outlaws, it was a great post.

I've added a bit to the Outlaws team thread today but perhaps you could put some of the your post in it too. I don't like the fact that others will think that all we do as a team is swear and abuse people at the tables, because the swearing and abuse is pretty much kept in house and private and its all in jest anyway. As my old dad used to say you can call someone all the names under the sun as long as you do it with a smile on your face!

Well that's me done for the foreseeable future.

I did a big withdrawal this morning and in true MrsDuck fashion put my whole bankroll into the roller, the mini and the £55b/h
I'd also qualified for the £220 sat for the UKPC

Plan was anything I won would be my new bankroll and if, as I thought the most likely, I bricked the lot, i'd pack in for a while.

As expected I've just bust all 4,  within about 10 minutes of each other. No complaints with the exits.

Sat exit was  bad on my part.
Roller, I shoved about 12bigs and got looked up by AQ. Flopped an up and down and turned a flush draw but didn't get there.
    Mini, I can't remember
£55B/H was a bit rough. 3bet shoved QQ and got called by AQ . 10 high flop followed by J turn and K river. In JimmyRiddle style, I kind of expected the K to fall.

The last couple of months have been tough.

I play poker to hopefully make a few quid and enjoy myself.
Losing and not enjoying myself makes it a pretty rubbish hobby at the moment

I've totally lost my way recently with the game and have a bit of life stuff going on as well.
I have played pretty much every day for the last few years and need a break. Plenty of books to catch up on and golf to play and beer to drink.

The games been really kind to me over the last few years and this is my first downswing. I still love poker to bits but it's not good starting sessions and wondering how much i'm going to lose. Time to step away for a while.

I'm definitely gong to still play the UKPC mini and go to Newcastle but online I need a break.

The very best of luck to everyone.

Timmy, if I'm invited then I think its open to all ;)

Take a well deserved break Jackson. I've seen first hand how unpleasant you've been running and it can't be much fun to take beat after beat in big games.

I reckon come back to the tables when Derby are midtable.....so see you in 2 weeks.

I do wonder sometimes about how we coincidentally started threads with very similar names and I see posts like this which are just spread all over my diary!

    Are we related?
