My overview of February is good in all ways except live poker.

I've had 14 profitable days this month and 4 losing days. I made £38.04 cash profit on average my biggest one being £159.13 which was twice as big as my 2nd biggest. My average loss from those losing days was -£13.68 the biggest of those losses being £103.61. My overall average for this month was £24.36

When I say except in live poker I'm not actually talking about the disappointment of being excluded from aspers casino, the disappointment on live poker came from my snap calling and betting I did when actually playing, This cost me badly on a number of occassions. My worst one came in my last live poker cash session when I put chips in the middle without even looking, I myself thought those chips would be the size of the bet but they weren't doing what I did caused me to lose alot more than I should have lost thanks to the opponent holding trips.

march is a month where I'm gonna work on taking more time between decisions and thinking before betting/calling. There were times this month when I missed out on the chance to get addional value from my strong hands by calling bets that I could have raised and over betting my monster hands, their are also the times I'm regretting calls simply because I didn't thing about the overall range of an opponent and how well my current hand is against them.

I believe that without me getting any big losses and taking my time with decisions I should have no problem winning £100 each week on the cash tables.

The heavy snow last week might have stopped Thursday night's premier league darts matches but it didn't stop the UK open darts over the weekend therefore I had very little time for poker.
i was gonna play some poker Monday but their wasn't much nl20 cash going when I checked, I was gonna play the triple takedown tournaments but soon changed my mind and didn't have the motivation. I did play some poker thanks to an entry into the main event via the semi and my motivation during the main event was better so I entered the mini.

Today was a totally different story. My support worker was able to come today so my lonely and boring week came to an end. Today's cash tables was a mixture of stakes. I started off on 2 nl10p cash and 4 nl20p. The 2 nl10p tables were soon replaced by another 2 nl20p tables. These 6 nl20p tables were becoming empty so I loaded up some nl30 tables as they contained lots of familiar players.

My total cash for the night was £28.54

I've finished this week on a very happy note, I've very confident with my cash game at the minute playing a mixture of nl20p and nl30p cash tables. I could have finished with a small profit On Thursday but costly snap bets and calls in bad spots made that profit turn into a break even profit of £4.39. My best prize came on Friday when extremely loose players helped make me a profit of £221.06. I didn't have such a good time on Saturday, a few coolers cost me 2 buy ins on the cash tables in the afternoon, things went from bad to worse in the evening when possible recovery was made a loss having got emotional from a player being sarcastic at me commenting on my play, I lost £75.89. Saturday's issues proved no problem on Sunday when a I won decent prize on cash around teatime and smaller cash prize on the cash in the evening coming to a total profit of £156.25

    Overall profit £305.81

It's still early days to be certain but I'm thinking nl30p cash could be the right stakes for me. I starting to add nl30p cash into my game before that down swing came into play, I won't have as big a bankroll now as it was then but that can be made up knowing my both my cash table skills and my mental control is much better.

I'm not gonna go into great detail about the poker from last week because it will be a mostly negative one. The week began with 2 break even finishes. I then had two losing sessions on the night's I come back from volenteering. I make back most the loss on Friday but it was quickly lost again on Saturday. I was looking to put my bad week to bed with a good spell Sunday before thinks turned ugly and I came out with another loss.

    Overall loss £291.39

My points accumulation last week can give a big drop in that loss having made 2197 points.

Has my poor run on the cash tables now come to an end or was this friday just another one off.

Monday and Tuesday had what was another 2 losing sessions resulting in my BR dropping to it's shortest it's been since returning to low stakes cash tables. This bad run on the cash can't have caused me to play a C game because on the monday I was able to play very calm and relaxing during some tournament poker and Where I had no problem making decisions and took bad beats with ease.
I made a total loss of £180.54 on Monday and a loss of £59.53 on Tuesday

Wednesday was the time cash tables got back to winning ways. I wasn't feeling happy about my game that morning and knew lots of mistakes were being made. I got rid of all these negative thoughts thanks to my Volenteering work and listened to prime mind in the evening before playing a cash session where I managed to make £23.62.

No Time for poker on Thursday therefore I was very relaxed and calm ready to play what I consider my favourite day of the week. It was always getting big value when ahead and losing the smallest of value when behind, Sets seemed to be getting won non stop.
I managed to finish with £120.87 profit.

Last week came to a conclusion with a break even day saturday and a small loss on sunday. I didn't bother doing an update at the weekend because all I was likely to say is more negativity.
I came out with a break even win size of £3.75 saturday and 1 small loss of £22.23.

I might have the odd bit of negativity come about here and there as was the case Sunday but my poker mood overall is getting more positive again. This week has started off in a much better fashion than it has done previous weeks. I did show a small bit of frustration over a loose unexpected call in triple takedown events but that was over in seconds because I knew right away the playing style I was doing in these events was a very high risk one and probably -EV longterm.
I finished today with a profit of £42.32

Those risks of any frustration creeping into my game look to have vanished considering I was £35 down from afternoon play and a further £40 down at the beginning of this evenings play. I do feel a bit lucky with make a profit at all because I did end up on the bad side of coolers this afternoon but opponent's weak play enabled me to avoid lose full stacks.

    I made a total profit of £22.99

March started off in a very positive exciting and ambitious poker mind set but that mind set has turned into a negative, saddening and unambitious poker mind.

Winning as much as I was at the start of this month, I was thinking maybe I can have a holiday at the end of this year on top of SPT Nottingham and Glasgow. This thought itself was probably the reason I had that bad run mid way into the month, I became too concerned about losses and started chasing them. The final week of March wasn't so bad on the cash tables but I was dealt a bitter blow in poker terms the reason, I will not be able to have a holiday abroad because my hopes of going away with another person is no longer possible. I would have been playing some UKOPS this weekend, right now I don't feel motivated for poker at all. the sadness of this brings back memories of that down swing I had following the failure to get a holiday using that big win I had in UKOPS highroller.

    Total for the month
    cash 36.23
    MTT-11.9
Total 24.33 from 21 days average 1.15 per day

Aspers casino have still not sent any reply back to me. I'm starting to wonder if they didn't bother sending me one because it is a full month since I sent a letter to them and would have thought they've have replied back to me by now if they were to confirm that it's being looked into.

    Aspers casino news
I've just phoned up Aspers casino asked them about whether I could still do SPT if gained entry via sky sats. They phoned me back confirming that as things stand I can't do them.
I explained that I send letters to the general manager and don't get reply. He told me an email is gonna be sent to the general manager with my phone number and hopefully I'll get a phone call of him.

What started off as a good end to March playing on nl30p has turned into a nasty downswing. with a very similar dynamic to the one I had after getting 2nd place in a high roller. I had started this week aiming to get an SPT seat from the points race but that ended after just 1 day having spent 12 hours on poker losing more than half the cost needed for direct entry into an SPT and sitting 8th place in the league day 2. I was in far too bad a mood to continue so I placed a cooldown for a few days.

I'm now taking a break from sky poker and spend some time on different poker site where I'll play my standard poker game i'm use to playing and like the most whilst using some poker tools to make improvements. I know from the time I've spent on this site during the cooldown their is not much risk of this down swing interfering with me and it is for pure fun more than anything.

I'll still play some 30p DYMs to get the 50 points needed for 1k freerolls and might register some SPTs sat but the main poker game will be on this other site until I've done SPT Nottingham.

    Downswing, pressure or over confidence.

If this was really such a bad down swing, It's quite strange to have managed an entire fortnight on another site with very little tilt at all. I did get a bit chasing in me once but that was on a day when I was on on big win, I still left with a decent prize then and knew to stop before it was too late. I was playing this other site for pure fun and thought lots of mistakes would be detected through tools but I've got very few. Maybe these losses are a sky only issue.

When I started looking into nl30p as a regular stake, I was winning more than my weeked target had, I then start thinking about having a holiday around september. A number of larger than expected losses start creeping in, during my bad and unlucky times on the cash, I try to put these to one side and start to drop down the stakes. My bankroll at the time was 33 buy ins deep and I did make it up to 40 buy ins for a spell, then came some losses 6-8 buy ins deep and SPT nottingham was coming up shorty so I was becoming dire for the BR to stop dropping. When playing on sky poker in january, I was aiming to play for fun, build up my BR and use it on SPTs. I had 1 day on nl30p but that was because nl20 cash wasn't available. I was having a very calm relaxing time on the poker most sessions would be winning sessions and I didn't have much fuss about losing sessions. My time on this other site is the very same, I just play for fun and build up my BR, I've made 20 buys worth of cash during the last fortnight on this site.

This other site does have a few additional benefits. People won't actually know about my recent downswing on sky poker, the use of poker tools makes it easier to get an idea of my opponents, the table doesn't have a timer displayed and I can use a time bank therefore I have no problem taking my time. All that together means I can put maximum focus on both my and my opponents hand range without the pressure of rushing my decisions. It's still very early but I do feel much happier about my game on this other site, I'll keep building up my BR on this site and once I return to sky poker I'll start playing 1 sky cash alongside 3 of these cash poker tables to keep my pressure at a minimum whilst I continue to work on my post flop poker game

Here is a graph of my run on this site the last two weeks.

this was off poker stars, a few bits of bad luck as well as coolers and poor calls has seen it decrease the last two days.

The table dynamic on that site is weird, players are very LAG preflop but alot of them become a more tight passive player post flop. I'm at the point now where I 3bet widely when IP and sitting in the blinds but post flop all that action turns very weak.

I've checked out the window and can't see any pigs flying therefore this dream of making it onto the final table and run well in an SPT really is true, all I can say about it is 3rd time lucky must exist. My overall game play consisted of a real mixture, one minute I was as nitty as TK himself next minute I'm this huge gambler risking huge stacks.

day 1 was a case of high risk play where I myself was the luckyone

My first big talking point came when I open raised AJo, flop was a rainbow Q10x My cbet on the flop was raised massively by the villian, I took a bit of thought over the hand before opting to reshove thinking maybe he's semi bluffing some sort of draw or mid strength hand and knew how big I nit I really was, when the opponent did call I was thinking already maybe my time is over but to my shock he turned over J9 and avoided going ahead therefore I won his whole stack.

My 2nd big pot came thanks to a bet then AI with KK against sky mark's 99 on a low flop, unfortunately I didn't get his bounty because some loose play with a flush draw made my chipstack 200 chips smaller than mark's chip stack.

My next big pot was a very sickening and painful one, a short stack goes AI and I opt to call AQo a player sitting in the BB then did an AI himself which I opt to call since the stack was very large turns out he held KK and flopped top set on flop however the flop also has 10 and the turn brought a J meaning my AQ now made the straight and KK didn't improve to FH on river therefore his SPt nottingham was now over.

I finished day 1B with a total of 258000 chips which in BB terms was still 100bb deep.

Day 2 was about a mixture of bluffing value betting and coolers

Edit: A nice win came thanks to revealing a bluff. The story here was I raised A4 to steal ch flop and calls turn as bottom pair, river brings K opponent ch and I opt to bet around pot size as a bluff, the player folds and I got showoff by revealing my bluff. The real beauty of this was I managed to extra more value than expected with a rivered 2 pair against another opponent on the same table who thought I might be bluffing again.

My first big win came when raised/C J10 and flopped the gutshot+ runner runner flush. My plan was to call the flop with intent to trun bluff to a turn flush draw but I actually hit the gutshot, the fact it provided a flush draw meant i was certain to be ahead but I still opted to Ch/R the turn and do a cbet on the river, flushes were now ahead of me but the Adx KK and QQ were all losing to me on the turn and I gained additional value on the river hat was the same size as my Ch/R on turn.

edit: a bit of deceptive play allowed me another big win as well as knocking out two players, I limped it with AA intent on trapping the LAG SB and going AI on flop but instead the big pot was won thanks to two short stacks going all in as 55 and JJ, most annoying part of all was I then hit set on flop.

Looking at chipstacks by sight a player looks to have a much bigger chipstack than he really has and I myself made what was a poor call with a pair+ flush draw on the turn by donking then calling a person who'd squeezed pre and ch flop QQxcc.

Thankfully a cooler helped me recover my chip stack when Q10 rivered what he thought was a good start but was actually turning my trips into a full house.

Doing this I still had belief in taking this tournament down but that plan changed when I the short stack survived a flip, my chipstack was now one of the shortest ones and the two biggest ones were sitting to the left of me, I preserved what ever chip stack I could manage to and achieve as I was hoping and that was the other short stack exit before me.
