Actually I think you have too much going on up there. Too much for you to cope with anyway.

I see your brain as something akin to a soup dish. Capable of holding a small amount of information, but like a soup dish the slightest jolt sends the contents spilling into your lap.

Can it not even penetrate that we don't care for your views on this much less ask for them repeatedly. You gave them and many of us derided them as nonsense. Continually banging on about them is not going to alter the way people think.

You have your opinions and you are absolutely entitled to that, you are also entitled to express them on this forum. However, there comes a point when it's just seen as trolling especially when you hijack numerous threads with them.

Maybe you should keep your own counsel and then if it comes to light that online poker is indeed deliberately corrupt, you will have the satisfaction of telling us all that you told us so.

Right now you remind me of an early missionary, desperately preaching the Gospel whilst the locals warm up the cooking pot and contemplate what veggies compliment Long Pork.

    TheEdge, the christian, i think has quoted the bible here;

Was it one of the discipals to Judas? I wanna say Tim. Was it Tim?

Spread the word my friends, spread the word!

    Christian with a capital C, it's a title.

Timothy wasn't an apostle / disciple. The only T's were Thomas and Thaddeus.

There were however, 2 books of the New testament bearing Timothy's name Timothy 1 and Timothy 2 which were basically epistles to Timothy from Paul

Which Judas do you refer to, there was more than one in the Bible, capital B, it's a title. I will assume you are referring to Judas Iscariot the apostle rather than Judas aka Jude aka Thaddeus.

    Wow information overload.

Whoops, there goes a little more soup. I'm thinking cabbage or some such.

Ah ****, if i knew there was a Tim in the Bible i wouldnt have used the name......

sometimes i use 'u' instead of 'you' in these posts, so the correct diction is not a priority... But if u think your getting 1 over on me by your reply, u have several capitalled titles i can think of....

I would love C Carrell to make his statements on here and to see TheEdge, Mumsie, Jac, etc put up replies suggesting what a nob (sorry, Nob would be the correct title) he was, how funny would that be!

Oh and during the game that made it 8-0 in the heads up games against TheEdge on or around 2 Jan, I put in the comments box 'i hope 2024 is a great year for you Mark'..... there was no reply....

I am not seeing much Christian (capital) behaviour from this very confused individual!

You find it in prisons, they become Christian just in case there is a ****. and on that basis they just might get thru the pearly gates... i think the more saner people realise it does not work this way!

PS just in case im pulled up on punctuation, your can not write the word the devil comes from without putting a fullstop after it.....

I have an advantage over many commenting on this thread. I know a lot of poker pros. Simply because I used to play a lot, particularly online.

Similarly, I know several live pros who genuinely believe online is rigged. A lot of which play almost exclusively in "home games", which are almost certainly more likely to be rigged than anywhere else, whether in casinos or online.

I'm a cynic. Here is my take on why most poker pros who think online is rigged think that:-

    1. They have an enormous ego
    2. They believe that they are automatically better than pretty much everyone else
    3. They fail to recognise just how much higher the standard is online compared to live
    4. They believe that, if they are a losing player online and a winning player live, this is due to some fault in the system, not their lack of ability to beat the rake online, as opposed to live

Turning to Charlie Carrell. Never met the man. But what I do know is this-

From 2014-early 2020 he had enormous success, particularly in High Rollers. Achieved a Turnover (not Profit) of nearly $10 million. Impressive. How much did he stake to win that? Unlike online, there is no way of knowing.

Since then? Fallen off a cliff. 2 recorded cashes since July 2021 according to the Hendon Mob. Does not divulge his online success/failure.

Could be all sorts of reasons why he feels embittered. If he was backed and/or spent his winnings, he won't be the first. Because everyone has a downswing. Just a lot of poker players never think it will happen to them. On a similar note, him openly disclosing that his initial money was funded by his Drug Dealing won't exactly help in relation to money-laundering checks online

When I play you I have the chat turned off, so obviously I can't reply. As for your repeated pathetic attempts to wind me up over my beliefs just understand this. You aren't clever enough to succeed.

He was invited to play Game of Gold by GG poker. He seemd to enjoy himself. He does not seem an embittered type, unlike some of the pro's showed themselves to be in this unique programme showing the green room.

He seemed to be the one looked up to by all the pro's there as if he was the main man ... as he seemed to be the most knowledgeable one there.

Everyone who has played poker online for as long as us, absolutely know there is a problem. The answer is 1 of 2 things, that is absolutely happening, whether you are prepared to admit it or not. I have endeavoured to get to the bottom of it as you well know!

They are; There is a problem with the players

There are bots or players that can see your cards

There is a problem with the sites

There is a problem with the deal

i have always been open to which ones are happening, but at the very least 1 is.

Now the problem i have with the sites is that they say we have a 100% random deal (and its impossible to write a programme to have certain results), it is impossible to see an opponents cards and that is impossible to run bots. Ask Chris Moneymaker.

So when they are making statements like that, it pushes it towards the problem with the deal.... as the trust diminishes, as in life, when people openly are not telling the truth.

Personally i think all the above is happening.

It quite amuses me that when at last a pro comes out and says it (if as u suggest his earnings have dried up from playing, to turn down GG pokers offers for sponsorship and then call them out, seems not right), that it must be the player who is suspect!

Im not sure what it will take for you to start waking up, especially as GG has to admit it has a problem. You once described Skys poker as running involving 'rubber bands', yet you are not even on the fence with online problems....

Simply because I do not believe such problems are endemic.

You used to be a profitable player at higher stakes. You stopped being a profitable player at higher stakes.

You are still a profitable player at small stakes. In that sense, props to you-much, much better to be a winner at lower stakes than a losing player at higher stakes. You are making a better choice than most there.

But you have lots of theories as to why you are no longer a winning player at higher stakes. All involving increasing levels of complexity.

The simple answer is that the player pool has improved quicker than you have.

I don't mean that as an insult. I play at lower stakes than I used to. Partly for that reason, and partly because my Income is lower now that I have retired. 10 years ago, I was probably 6-tabling at an average of 10 times your single table stake. And probably am now. In 1 sense, for similar reasons. It's just that 1 of us believes that the game has evolved through logical reasons, and the other does not.

The "rubber bands" bit? True. But how do you expect Sky to operate a sophisticated fraud operation when it can't even get antes running?

In short, there is a problem with the players. Less of them are really, really bad. More of them learn fundamentals of the game. Doesn't mean the average player at (say) midstakes is better than you. Just that they are closer than the amount of rake.

    @Essexphil

The rubber bands bit related to the apparent bot and cheat problem. If you think its that bad, then it would be a target.

Id be very, very suprised if you have never played anyone online, where you thought hand after hand... how can he possibly call that and be right soooo many times... or played someone who regulary folds on the flop/turn, when he has the option to check...

I find it amusing that you think i have reduced stakes because its me that cant compete any more... whereas you (i have seen you in many £5 tourns), have brought it right down but its mainly for other reasons...

I simply dont believe you think that on this site, the standard of play is so high, that this is the reason you dont win in the manner you have been used to in the past. The standard is appalling. The standard online has always been this way and continues to be so. Are you telling me a player folding when hes first to act, is this incredible increase in standard you are talking about!???

Folding when first to act can be for a variety of reasons.

In my case I’ve done that a few times, eg I’m in bb and the flop comes AAK, there’s a limper in early position and I’ve 72. I think fold and move on, as I only play tournaments not cash games.

We are expecting someone to knock on the door, I don’t expect my good lady to get up and answer just because I’m sat playing on my pc, I fold for other players on table to move on.

    I need the bathroom.

    I’m rubbish at poker 😉

That is a fair explanation Tommo, but i play heads up, where if you have that 7 2 and i have J8, why on earth would you keep folding hands like that when you can spike a 7 or 2 on the turn or river if there are no bets?

These 'players' only fold an AAK flop when i have an ace or king and they indeed have hands like 7 2, but if there are no bets they cant possibly know this, im just as likely to have that J8.

When players are only ever folding mid hand with no bets, ONLY when you have a massive hand... but are ultra aggressive all other hands... then this is just about as suspicious as it gets...

Carrel is renowned for being a specialist with live reads. He says all sorts of things to elicit the response he is looking for. Unfortunately he's on a much higher level in that area than anyone on here so we can only guess as to what he is actually looking for.

I think @FeelGroggy is respected as a player on Sky. He agrees that Carrell is on a much higher level than anyone on Sky.

Still, no-one except essexphil has tried to explain away Carrells feelings on what is happening online at present. And that was that Carrell may embittered about online poker due to him not winning any more.... not sure i saw anything on Game of Gold that suggested Carrell had lost his way... the scouser on it, errr yes.... :p

The others, well, they just say things like the above schoolground nonsense.... How about just debating the topic and discussing the big developments in Carrells findings since this programme aired?

I suggest its the schoolground bullies that are boring, with their endless prodding.... its a good poker subject guys, give it a go.....
