I was watching Sky News this morning. The next "Bond" was being discussed. One of the presenters was adamant that it should be an older man. She then suggested that Ray Winstone was a serious candidate. I nearly fell off my sofa. Firstly he cant speak proper English. And secondly I dont think Ray Winstone would ever be seen dead drinking a martini. Whether it was shaken or stirred. If the world went mad and he was selected, this would obviously terminate his involvement in any future Guy Ritchie project. Never going to happen.

Started watching Jack Irish. 2 episodes in, good so far.
Unforgotten. As good as ever Virdee. Good. But not great.
Tonight's must see? Modern Life is Goodish on Dave.
Been a fan of Dave Gorman since the start, when he was providing the gags for Mrs Merton. (Believe he wrote the line to Debbie McGee-"what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels"). Seen everything he has ever done
First new series for about 7 years. Totally original comedian
PS. Saw him live last year. Extremely funny set of gags about Gregg Wallace-sadly, that routine has had to be axed for the new series

Always Winning By Ashley Walters Chris Isaie Coming 29 May
About this listen Brought to you by Penguin.
An unconventional memoir filled with brave and inspiring stories, hard-earned wisdom and the keys to discovering true success and fulfilment.
From Top Boy to So Solid Crew, Ashley Walters’ explosive on-screen performances and trailblazing music has always explored the same conflicting forces that have governed his life. Born and raised in Peckham, his father in and out of prison, Ashley found the gang culture in inner city London inescapable. At 15, he was stabbed in the neck and left for dead. At 18, he had a gun held to his head as he cradled his newborn son. At 20, he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison.
In this brave and inspiring book, Ashley opens up about his turbulent past. He writes candidly about his battles with identity, addiction, family and fame, and the realisation that, after years of struggle, only he could change his future.
‘Always Winning’ is the framework Ashley developed to turn his life around. Revealed for the first time in this book, explored through powerful stories from his life and career, he shares the principles of this philosophy and shows how anyone can use them to overcome their own challenges, helping them to align a true sense of purpose with inner happiness and personal success and fulfilment.
What platform (NetFlix, PRIME, Sky etc) are these Jack Irish things on, please?
I am telepathic. The 3 series are on CH4.
Will give this a try pretty soon.
Watched the 1st 3 episodes if the new Reacher. Very watchable, though (like the book) is taking a while to get the story going...
I will wait until they are all available. I just hope it is better than the last one.
The best thing is that it not getting all confused via getting the old gang back together. It looks like Neagley will join at some point, and that's pretty much it.
Ok cheers.
I just started on Reacher. Havent decided whether to persevere or not. Such an implausible start.
Brilliant BBC dramas we can't wait to watch in 2025
Line of Duty, The Split, Everything I Know About Love, Normal People, This is Going to Hurt – it's fair to say we're a nation who love a good TV show, especially when the BBC are behind the camera. But what about the best new BBC dramas, out now and coming soon? The good news is there are plenty of exciting new TV dramas in the pipeline for 2025, so we have much to look forward to...
From Riot Women, the latest drama from award-winning Happy Valley creator Sally Wainwright, to the return of Tom Hiddleston in The Night Manager, there's plenty to get excited for.
It's set to be a big year for period drama devotees, too. Miss Austen, based on Gill Hornby's bestseller (and starring Keeley Hawes and Rose Leslie) has been a recent Sunday night hit, while a new series centred on the most unassuming of the Bennet sisters in Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice, has been announced. A new eight-part historical drama, King & Conqueror, with an all-star cast featuring Clémence Poésy and James Norton, is also coming soon.
We've rounded up the best dramas recently released and those coming to the BBC soon. Find out more about each show below, and prepare to never leave your sofa again...
