Looking over it,  my main area of weakness in poker is MTTs.

I got some really good feedback over in the "MTT" thread in the poker clinic.

MTT's are fantastic and nothing (in poker) beats a good run in a tournie, final tabling, and going onto bring one down. I'm going to try and get some stats on how i have done in MTT's to date from when i started playing on sky, if any member of sharkscope would be kind enough to let me know lol

After 100 games it will give me a better idea if maybe tournies just arn't for me.

I'm going to use this thread to post up results, a public record of how i am doing, whether it's good or bad.

You just have to look at GaryQQQ, Pomfrittes, and many other low stake players, who consistantly win, which is down to their skill and ability at MTT's. At the end of this it would be nice to say I am a winning MTT player, that is the goal.

To achieve this i want to be playing well, making the right decisions, iron out leaks, and the success will come.

I'm looking forward to this, i'll post interesting hand histories, and would welcome any feedback.

Thanks for reading!

lol just sounds like a lot

I'll give 100 games a go, it gives me a focus. The main thing i want to do is prove to myself i can improve at these and start making better decisions in Mtt's.

This thread will help me a lot too. Once i've played 100 games i will discontinue the thread (and hopefully still be playing them). Saying 100 games gives me a target to get 2.

Thread title suggests the objective is to improve, you can/should improve alot in 100 games if you're working hard at it.

Just don't use the results alone to guage the level of improvement, look more at performance/understanding of concepts etc.

    Gd luck.

Tonight, i'm going to start a thread, showing my live performance throughout a couple of MTTs, which will show how i play at different spells in the tournie, i'll just update it as i'm going along.

Here ya go Larson. You only need to be a member to do more specific searches. If you just want lifetime SnG stats, lifetime MTT stats, or the two combined, anyone can do that...

Henrik, just play the £3 & £5 timed MTTs, they are super low variance, & anyone with half a brain should be able to cash in 50%+....The only downside is you wont get a big score, but there v good for BR building if on a low budget...

    /|\ This is good advice.

There are many ways to improve your MTT play - Not all of them will bring instant results, but put them all together and over time it will bring results.

    Hi Larson

I'll enjoy this thread. +1 to Dohhhhhhh about being wary about how you judge success. It's more about adjusting to what you should be doing at certain stages with certain stack sizes in certain positions with a particular stack size. A lot of good points and improvement will come in retrospect methinks. Don't forget your hand analysis. If you want to make consistent progress it will take some work. All the best....

best of luck, just be patient and don't get down on yourself if you don't get success straight away, it will take time, but from what i saw sharing a table with you last night, you should have no problems long term

    Thanks everyone.

Starting; 455 games played, Average ROI minus -21.8%, total minus £205. Thanks for that Lambert, very good of you mate.

I'm looking to improve at MTT's, performance and concepts, basically reducing mistakes improve on decision making, things like bet sizing/ maximising value from strong hands. If i can do this, it will hopefully show in results. If i can get to that, this will be really worthwhile.

Trev lol what are these ways! I'm left in suspense now haha

Boles, yeah it was good playing against you, enjoyed the monday game, couldn't believe the table we were at same 6 for about 2 hours lol

    ----------------------------------------

    Update

Played my first 2 MTT's tonight, don't think i played terribley, didn't get much in the way of hands.

My first table had a maniac who was shoving every hand, the chat box was cracking up, but i was loving it just biding my time, then i got moved to another table lol

Ended up going out 38/103 and 66/116.

When i went out 38th, i shipped over a 3 x raise blinds at 75/150 with AQ, bit ambitious, but with blinds stack size was just looking for a double up. Got looked up by AK which held lol

I've got to say it was no surprise when the maniac didn't cash. Some of his calls in response to allins was er dubious to say the least.

BTW multi coloured posts are so last year Larson :) And minmum  of font size 10 FTW.

3bet shipping with AQ over a 3x @ 75/150 is pretty standard if you've got under 20xBB, I deffo wouldn't think of that as a mistake, if they had AK this one time, meh unlucky
