gl Rambo If you don't mind me asking what are your circumstances? e.g. do you live at home with parents or do you have significant outgoings? anyone else relying on you to bring in the bacon? (wife, kids etc) in reality its a terrible plan but if you're young free and single then just go for it but be willing to admit defeat if it all goes wrong Posted by huuuuume
im a houseowner, have a strong balance in bank. decided i wanted a few years breaak to take on my hobbie and build a roll to play large tourneys with more experience
randyrambo if your using dyms to build a bankroll to play other formats then this might be do-able but don't get carried away thinking you'll earn 10's of the thousands. It really depends on how good you are at other forms of the game though because to live off grinding £5 dyms is unrealistic (if you want to earn anywhere near a decent living)
To give you an idea one of the most successful DYM players on sky has made around £4.5k since the start of the year. He has played around 8000 dyms which is roughly 34 games a day on average! assuming he keeps up the same win rate that works out at about £7k for the year. £7k a year for a homeowner isn't going to go very far. Also if you assume he takes two days off a week then the average amount of games per day goes up to 50.
I would also add that the number of players who earn enough money to quit there jobs playing poker on sky you could probably count on one hand. According to sharkscope only 6 players who play MTTs and only 2 who play SNG's have made over £10k from playing poker on sky this year. No idea about cash.
As Jac said a few posts back use it to top up your salary but I certainly wouldn't rely on it.
Guys watch this space and hopefully time will tell.. When I say DYMS yes 90% if not more will be double your money's but I might get the odd HU in there to break it up and play quite a bit of cash and everyone on here knows the standard on sky is the highest around
To know that only 6 guys have gotten over £10k on sky this year is something for me to aim and hopefully achieve but I know it will take time and I will slowly but surely get there
im not going to lie, i think your completely crazy, but in a good way, u know what u want and your going for it so good for you, hope it works out well , since i mainly play dym's im sure you'll see a fair bit of me.
Rather than follow you on Sharkscope would you mind just posting up your DYM results per day or session with a cumulative running total? I would be interested in following this. Good luck.
will do guys, just about to start my session today, have £70 so starting off with a few £0.60 and £1.15 to warm up and get into the swing then be into "2.25 and £3.30s is anyone is about and wants a few games
RandyRambo - have you ever watched X Factor. You'll have no doubt seen the people convinced of their talent and that they are going to make it big, only to get brought back to earth by the judges (because they have no where near the required talent to get anywhere)...
no offense, but this reminds me of you a bit.
There are many reasons why this wont work
1. your record so far - you have played around 600 games in total and are £50 in profit. Even if you take your record in the last few days, which is pretty good, you have still only made £25 in 2 days. Im not sure you will be able to keep that record up, an even if you do, its not much (50p per game)
2. DYM's are very hard to geta decent ROI in. you'll need to play stakes that sky dont have to make decent money.
3. The stakes you are playing are full of fish. crushing them is not an indication that you are able to make money playing in other games. As you build your bankroll you will be looking to play higher stakes, which have better players. who knows if you will be a winning player at these stakes, and its not like you can just drop back down the stakes because you wont be able to make enough money.
4. you are doing it the wrong way round - you should build a bankroll, have some money to the side "just incase", be able to beat the stakes required to make a living over a large sample (at least 1000 games, preferably more) before even considering going pro.
If as suggested you are finacially secure for the next year or 2 and want to take a shot (and that is what this is) then fine, but dont expect to earn decent money any time soon from it.

Don't bring the Rambo down !
Chicken did u notice that half of your name (top half) was missing from your name badge at spt Nottingham ?
Just reminded me that I couldn't find you because I had the other half at the bottom of my name badge.
I hope this is just someone posting this for a laugh and seeing how many people take it serious...
If however this is real, then ummm ut oh! You claim to have amazing sharkscope stats, but all I can say about them is you are in profit. I wouldn't describe them as the best on Sky lol, your ROI isn't even in the +
Goodluck though! Go and crush all those other 60p and £1 dym grinders!

lol, I'm sorry... i dont mean to bring people down - I'm just trying to be realistic.
Yeah I decided not to wear my badge for 2 reasons..first was that it had half of your name on it, and half of mine, making it hard to read, the other was probably a bit silly, but I dont like giving away free information. I'm sure there would have been at least one or 2 people that would recognise the name and be able to recall some notes they had from online. Think I will probably wear it next time though.
I'm not at SPT Newcastle btw... so dont spend all day looking again
lol joke all this is u told me on table that u are engage u have a little baby to look after u pack your job to go full time pro with a 30 quid bank roll and ur only 24 years old
Disappointing. I thought Rambo said he'd update. Sharkscope suggests he's not putting in the volume he would have liked. Shame, as he made a promising start.
Seriously though good luck. Your thread has gained alot of interest and I will be keeping an eye on your progress. Hope you dont quit too early though!
