Thanks Donna, good luck with the new system of playing, I'm lucky in that aspect as I forget how to play from one day to next so never follow same way of playing twice, this age thing has its benefits ;) x

I am so glad to be back on the shop floor working, thing is though I was REALLY apprehensive over the weekend, new job and all that malarkey. I was waking up in the night wondering if I would be good enough to do the job, crazy when you consider I have been in the trade about 30 **** years.
Last weekend consisted of getting all my tools together, wife telling me to throw some stuff away (What!) and purchase new stuff, including new work attire...My dear son kindly offered me a pair of work trousers which were too big round the waist for him, I tried them on..couldn't fit round my waist, sigh. Ordered new trousers, tried them on,too small, do these Chinese not know inches from centimetres? I had to order the biggest pair I have ever worn.
My good lady wanted me to make a bonfire and burn my previous employers jumpers and shirts with their logo on, and dance round the fire :) I had to put my foot down, I washed them and took them into my ex employers workplace...integrity intact :), they prob would have charged me for them anyway.
I am absolutely shattered, I went to bed at 8pm one day, and 9pm last night.tonight may be another early night, the good? News is my trousers keep sliding down, they are either too big or my svelte figure is returning.

Poker stuff, shall I post it here or in poker chat...decisions decisions.
My son bought me a Free Poker tournament entry at a casino of my choice as part of my birthday present, my good lady suggested as my awesomeness is returning ( new job etc) why don't we go to the Casino tomorrow evening :)
We shall be frequenting G Casino in Brighton, parking is a nightmare but I prefer that one to the rendezvous, more old school I guess.
Played a few tournaments here on Wednesday, am back to winning ways, of a fashion..I finished second in one tournament, I think it was a £5 bounty hunter, oh that may have been Monday, or last week..dunno. Anyway the one which did stick in my mind was me doing the unthinkable and limping utg with Pok 2s, with the cunning plan to shove any raise...cue 4 other limpers,in late stages..sigh. Even bigger sigh was hitting a straight flush and losing...doh.

Sort of poker related, the insurance company have admitted liability on the accident we were in, so we won't have to pay the excess and our no claims bonus won't be affected, is the tide turning?
So good of Paul to try to get the forum up and running by posting on most diaries ;)

Good things come to those who deserve them at the right times. Once one door shuts anothe door opens to a brand new venture. Never be afraid to go into a new ventrure you never know where it will lead.

I was playing a tournament on here the other evening and a chap said hi, I returned the greeting, he said he had recently read my blog and he doesn't moan on the the tables now, that made me feel good.

Just rang the Casino to check tonight's tournament structure - it is a Bounty Hunter :)

Good to see the forum post count is on the up, long may that continue, prizes or not.

    Over to you Mr.G.

Well that was fun, we made it in good time to Brighton so there was room at the inn to park.
I tried to actually think about my plays before making them and put folk on ranges, it sort of paid off to a degree. Couple of hands of note, remember this is a bounty hunter.Blinds 100/200 I look down at AK clubs, raise to 525 in early position, a call and a re-raise to 1800, I cover them both. I flat so does Mr Caller. Flop massive :) K and 2 clubs, I bet 2k Mr Caller does the expected call, Mrs re-raise shoves, I re-shove and so does Mr. Caller. Showdown...Mr.Caller has A 10, Mrs Crazy has K3 neither have clubs, turn club. I get 2 Bounties.

Made it to final table, 6 limpers at 600/1200 - I may have played this wrong but I also limp with A 10. Flop A K Q, all check to me, I bet 3k, two callers, turn the dreaded 10, it was 1am so thought sod it, bet 5k leaving me 12k behind, bloke does the expected shove, other folds...I tank call the 8k... He shows Q 10.

Chip lead and a progressive bounty beckoned until the river Q...rigged innit ;)

Had a great time and moaned all the way home lol.

Good to see things are on the up Tom.

How is the new job, enjoying it?

You mention Brighton - what do you make of that new Sticky Up Thing on the Front, the I-View or whatever it's called?

I am really enjoying my new job, it takes me back to when I first started in the trade. I am working on the shop floor which I am most comfortable with, I know it is early days but all seems good so far, I even drove home without the aid of my sat nav today :) live on the edge type of guy that I am.
My dear daughter is visiting this evening, I think I will rename the days she visits " take away day" as we always seem to partake of one when she comes round, love her visits, she brings her dog with her, it's a lovely little pug, she named it Pandora and it gets everywhere :)
I didn't see the I 360 when I went to the casino, although I have seen drawings of it, when I was with my past employer we were drawing the doors as we were employed to produce them, I don't have any views on it either way to be honest as that part of me sort of wants to move on, strange how things happen isn't it.
We wanted to plan outings for the holiday this evening, but my son mentioned some daft game of cards called Yu Gi Oh, or some such, they are now discussing which cards they have and what their powers are, have I entered a new dimension?

Yet more self ego boosting drivel.

This really should be moved to The Rail.
