Bitofapuzzle - (Cheltenham, 16:05) 4/1 (Ladbroke) Winner Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler up to 2½m Golden Gael. Won a maiden point on debut and landed 8-runner bumpers at Bangor/Huntingdon (listed event) at the turn of the year. Respected on return.

Likeable sort who signed off his novice campaign with a second in the Maghull at Aintree and produced a smart weight-carrying performance when landing a handicap at Kelso on last month's return.
Held up behind leaders, took closer order 3 out, soon pushed along, close 3rd when hit last, soon ridden, looking to hang left, kept on but not pace to challenge winner, went 2nd nearing finish (op 7/2)
Made all, not fluent 4th, 3 lengths clear when jumped slightly left 6th, jumped slightly left again 4 out, still travelling well from next and always in command, easily (op 1/6)
Regal Encore - (Cheltenham, 15:15) 10/1 (William Hill) X Shaped well when fourth in the Imperial Cup at Sandown on handicap debut last March and has a bigger performance in him for sure. Return to 2m sure to suit this strong traveller. Ridden after 3 out, always towards rear
Landed 2 juvenile events in France. Unlucky not to win the Fred Winter on first run for yard, but seemed to be beaten by more than a lack of a run on last month's reappearance at Aintree. Tongue tied.
