Lieutenant Colonel - (Fairyhouse, 13:30)  9/2 (Ladbrokes) Winner

Improved when landing a C&D Grade 2 novice hurdle in April. Turned over when odds on for a maiden chase on return at Naas, but he'll be sharper this time and ought to make his presence felt.
Chased leaders, left moderate 2nd at 5th where slightly hampered, slight mistake 4 out, took closer order behind leader before next and led travelling well before 2 out, soon ridden and strongly pressed, stayed on well from last to assert run-in (op 100/30 tchd 3/1)

    The Tullow Tank - (Fairyhouse, 14:05) 2.05/1 (Betfair) X
Dual winner of Grade 1 novice hurdles last term, including the Royal Bond at this meeting 12 months ago. Cosy winner on return/chase debut here this month and looks the one to beat.
Held up in mid-division until took closer order behind leaders before 4 out, ridden in 5th after 3 out and soon no impression on leaders, kept on one pace from next (op 7/4 tchd 13/8)

Stellar Notion - (Leicester, 12:40)  6/4 (Ladbrokes) Winner
£140,000 purchase who made good start in light campaign last term, winning bumper and 2m Newcastle novice hurdle before second to Un Ace (getting 6 lb) at Doncaster. Promising chasing prospect.
Made all, 1 length ahead and still going okay when left clear last (tchd 10/11 and 11/10)

    Madam Lilibet - (Carlisle, 15:30  9/4 (Bet365) Winner

Quirky sort though has hit form of late, confirming recent flat win when landing competitive handicap back over hurdles at Hexham last time, by ¾ length from Trafficker. One to beat if in the mood.

    Pair Of Jacks - (Catterick, 13:50) 8/1 X
Successful twice over hurdles at Sedgefield this year. Form patchy in that sphere, however, and let down by jumping on chase debut at Wetherby last month.
Led at decent gallop, headed 4 out, chased winner to next, 5 lengths third and one pace when badly hampered by faller and unseated rider 2 out (op 6/1 tchd 5/1)

    Taylor - (Catterick, 14:20) X
Promising start when in the frame in a couple of bumpers (trained by Stuart Crawford on debut) and went close to making a winning hurdles bow at Ludlow last month. Sure to make another bold bid.
Took keen hold early, chased leaders, driven along before 2 out, outpaced between last 2 (tchd 15/8)

    Bitofapuzzle - (Wincanton, 13:10) 1/5 Winner
Point winner who landed pair of bumpers last year, and took Rules record to 3-3 with success on return in listed event at Cheltenham last month. Very hard to beat now hurdling.
Travelled strongly throughout, tracked leader, led 3 out, went right last, shaken up run-in, kept on, pushed out (op 1/6)

    Water Wagtail - (Wincanton, 14:15) 8/1 X
Made it third time lucky over fences, and landed a gamble in the process, when scoring over C&D in April. Well held on return at Stratford, but claims if back to his best here.
Mid-division, headway 9th to track leaders, ridden after 4 out, every chance next, weakened before last (tchd 13/2)

Saphir Du Rheu - (Exeter, 13:10) 5/4 Winner
Highly progressive over hurdles last season, winning the Lanzarote and Welsh Champion Hurdle. Unseated rider on Newbury chase debut last week, but he remains an exciting prospect for this discipline.

Jumped well, tracked leaders, led on bit 2 out, soon clear, easily (op Evens)

    Panama Petrus - (Sandown, 13:20) 11/2 X
Fair third in a Bangor bumper and built on his hurdling debut to score at Market Rasen in February. Below par twice subsequently during the spring, but he remains with potential now chasing.

Not jump well, always in rear, lost touch 11th, tailed off 4 out (op 17/2 tchd 10/1)

    Balder Succes - (Sandown, 15:00) 7/2 X
Quickly developed into a top-class chaser last term, winning 5 times, including a Grade 1 at Aintree in April. Shaped well when second to God's Own at Exeter on return and leading contender.
In touch on outer, progress to press leaders 8th, mistake 10th, on terms with leading pair bypassing 3 out, 3rd and looked held when mistake 2 out, one pace after (tchd 4/1 in places)

    God's Own - (Sandown, 15:00) 4/1 X
Has gone from strength to strength over fences, chasing home Balder Succes at Kempton before reversing placings in Grade 1 at Punchestown in May and Grade 2 handicap at Exeter on return. Big player.
Blundered 1st, tracked leaders, mistake 10th, ridden and no impression when mistake 2 out, weakened and eased flat (op 4/1)

    Vukovar - (Sandown, 15:00) 8/1 X
Prolific in bumpers/hurdles in France and looked smart chase prospect when romping away with novice at Newbury last Christmas. Badly hampered at Cheltenham Festival since and remains with potential.
With leader to 8th, weakened rapidly after 10th, tailed off

    Cup Final - (Sandown, 13:20) 7/4 Winner
Yet to win a race after 5 starts, though he's clearly capable, posting a fairly-useful effort when third in a Cheltenham handicap (21f) last month, and remains open to improvement.
Held up in midfield, closed on leaders before 2 out, challenged last, driven to lead final 150yds, stayed on well (op 7/4 tchd 15/8)
