Latest tweet from Ric Orford, let the banter commence:

"I got one free tow from the breakdown service. 9 miles to the poker venue. Or the 121 miles back home. What would you do?"

best thing for you rich is to get RAC tow to UKPC and ask him to wait.

It's VERY hard to do much by way of reports & chip counts at the mo, the club is rammed, we can barely move between tables, & we have 5 laptops perched on a coffee table sharing 2 power points. Apologies, that's just how it is.

When it gets deep into Day 2, it'll be easy, of course. For now, it's something of a nightmare for all the Sky Poker crew.

I do keep trying to keep an eye on claire008, who is having a lovely day, & still going along nicely.

Eon1941 was going well last time I looked, too, but I can't easily access his table from my "work station" aka coffee table up in the Gods.

Former boxer Spencer Oliver has been knocked out.

On a board of  5d  7d  9s both his and seat 7's stacks go in.

    Oliver  Tc 8s
    Villain  Td 3d

Turn is a swing and a miss of  5h

But the river is a haymaking  Qd

i think the numbers are as follows

    338 before today
    500 flight 12pm
    130 flight 4pm
    968 total
with some unused tickets to add

    so not too far away

the first flight, which i must say has been absolute bedlam to try, and fail, to cover has 291 left

101 are through before today and there are going to be a couple of hundred minimum of 200 through from today so maybe 300+ back for day 2

with the aim of playing to a final tomorrow. good luck us.

i saw dark angel earlier, for the person who asked

plenty of sky poker qualifiers playing today who have never played live before

wouldn't it be a story if we could get a couple to the final table?

they've learned quick though. in breaks

"i've got 95,000 and i had Ace-King under the gun and..."

after 10 years of doing this, my technique of nodding while listening but doing something else is well practiced!
