Got invited to dinner at my son's over the weekend and like me he likes a drop of wine. In the corner of his garage there were dozen's of empty wine bottles so asked him why he had not chucked them out. There not empty he said, I picked one up and it was empty. He then got glass out of the cupboard opened one poured tiny amount into the glass opened next one same tiny amount into glass after dozen bottles he had half glass of wine ..... You Sure I asked him. ...... had to give him that !
Does leather contain carbon? Yes, the carbon that is biologically stored in untanned cow hides if sent to landfill would produce some methane emissions as they rotted, but it's nowhere near as much CO2e created when we chemically transform those skins into leather (which will eventually be discarded or incinerated anyway).
